🇮🇩 Ancient Batak Village on Samosir Island
Huta Siallagan is a historic and cultural village located in Ambarita, on Samosir Island in Lake Toba, North Sumatra, Indonesia. In the Batak language, Huta Siallagan means the Village of Siallagan Clan. The village was founded by King Siallagan hundreds of years ago. It is renowned for its traditional Batak Toba architecture and its historical significance to the Batak people. The village is famous for its ancient stone chairs and tables used by the Batak kings and for its role as a site of traditional justice and execution.
There are a number of traditional Bolon and Sopo houses which are traditional houses of the Batak people. At the center of Huta Siallagan you can see two sets of large stones carved into chairs encircling a stone table. These stone furniture artifacts are called Batu Parsidangan, meaning “Stones for Meetings and Trials”.

Stunning Hadabuan Naisogop Waterfall
Although not as popular as other tourist attractions around Lake Toba, Hadabuan Naisogop Waterfall has a charm that is no less amazing. Located in Sianjurmulamula District, this waterfall offers natural beauty that is pristine and calming, making it a suitable destination for nature lovers and true adventurers.
Naisogop Waterfall is about 50 meters high and flows rapidly between rock cliffs surrounded by lush green trees. The roar of water falling from a height, coupled with the fresh mountain air, creates a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. Visitors who come to this place are often fascinated by its natural beauty that has not been touched by human hands. The entrance ticket is also very affordable, only IDR 7,000 per person.
To reach Naisogop Waterfall, visitors must go through a fairly challenging journey. The route to this waterfall requires visitors to pass through a steep and rocky path. However, this challenge is actually an attraction for those who like nature adventures. Along the way, visitors will be treated to beautiful natural scenery, such as rice fields, forests, and small, clear rivers. Upon arrival at the location, fatigue will immediately be paid off with the view of the magnificent waterfall.
Not only offering natural beauty, Naisogop Waterfall also has a strong cultural value. For the Batak Toba people who live around Samosir, this place is believed to be one of the sacred places and is related to local legends. Visitors who come here are advised to respect local customs and traditions and maintain the cleanliness and sustainability of the environment around the waterfall.
With its natural charm and calming atmosphere, Naisogop Waterfall is a destination worth visiting for anyone who wants to explore another side of Samosir Island. Although access is not as easy as other tourist attractions in Samosir, this place offers an authentic and unforgettable experience. For those of you who want to find peace, natural beauty, and adventure in the outdoors, Naisogop Waterfall is the right choice. #outdooradventures
🇮🇩 Beaches on Samosir Island, Lake Toba
Samosir Island, located within Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Indonesia, is known for its stunning natural beauty, including several attractive beaches. I visited Sigurgur Beach and Parbaba Beach. Parbaba Beach, also known as Pasir Putih Parbaba, is one of the most popular beaches on Samosir Island, known for its white sand and clear waters. It's a great spot for swimming, sunbathing, and various water sports. There are also facilities for renting boats and jet skis. Sigurgur Beach, also known as Pantai Sigurgur, js relatively quieter and less crowded. This makes it an excellent choice for visitors looking for a peaceful retreat.

🇮🇩 Hot Spring at Aek Rangat, Lake Toba
Aek Rangat is a well-known hot spring located on Samosir Island in Lake Toba, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Situated on the western shore of Samosir Island, Aek Rangat offers beautiful views of Lake Toba and the surrounding landscape. The hot springs at Aek Rangat are naturally heated by geothermal activity. The mineral-rich waters are believed to have therapeutic properties and provide a relaxing experience.
The larger bath house was not open during my visit. The guide brought me to a small restaurant next to it which had a tiny pool with hotspring water. Aek Rangat offers a natural and rustic experience so the facilities are basic. It would be good to bring your own supplies.

🇮🇩 Parhallow Viewpoint overlooking Lake Toba, Samosir Island
We stopped by Parhallow Viewpoint and Coffee Shop for lunch during the tour around Samosir Island, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The viewpoint is about 7 km and 15 min drive from Tomok Ajibata Port. It is a scenic spot and coffee shop which offers breathtaking views of Lake Toba, one of the largest volcanic lakes in the world formed by a massive volcanic eruption approximately 74,000 years ago. The restaurant serves simple local delicacies and a variety of beverages, including locally sourced coffee and tea. There was a coffee plant right next to our table which my guide pointed out to me.

Under the stars beneath the pale moonlight
#mymymemories#awesomepic
We have been eyeing bukit holbung in samosir regency for the longest time, so when the opportunity to camp for a night on the hill arrived we grabbed it without much thought.
I would recommend to hire a driver if u are in a group. He collected us from Medan Airport and arranged the camping trip complete with tents and cooking utensils.
It turned out that the trip was very memorable and peaceful. The landscape was #awesomepic picturesque as far as the eyes can see. The weather was not the best, however it did not hamper our excitement.
Important to note that public toilets were available at the foothill. There was one at midhill but the condition was not great and no water supply!
Apart from that, we had an enjoyable camping trip with the best view.
