Right next to Sonohara Interchange. Achi Village, Nagano Prefecture, is known as the village with the most beautiful starry sky in Japan. Here, from mid-April to early May, many flowering trees called hanamomo bloom beautifully. There are more than 5,000 of them. Achi Village has planted many "sanshoku hanamomo" trees that bloom in three colors: red, white, and pink. It is an unusual flowering tree that blooms with flowers of different colors on one tree. It is said that it has not yet been clarified why different colored flowers bloom on the same tree.

From the summit, you can see stars everywhere you look, 180 degrees: Takamine Observatory, Achi Village, Nagano Prefecture Even in the photo, you can see this amount of stars...! The 40-kilometer "Hanamomo Kaido" road in southern Shinshu, Nagano Prefecture, is lined with around 10,000 flowering peach trees and is also known as "Shangri-La." Every year from mid-April to mid-May, the town is decorated with three-colored peach blossoms. Achi Village in particular is known as "Japan's No. 1 Peach Blossom Village" and is extremely popular. Achi Village, located on the border between Nagano and Gifu Prefectures, is known for its "best starry sky in Japan," but recently it has become more well-known as "Hanamomo no Sato." (I'm one of those who only recently found out about this...) There are 5,000 flowering peaches of three varieties, red, white, and pink, planted in Hanamomo no Sato. Unlike regular peaches, flowering peaches are not edible, but are for decoration, so local people took the trouble to plant them. I'm very grateful. The flowering peaches that bloom in Hirugami Onsen in early April will increase in altitude over time, and bloom in Hanamomo no Sato in late April. The flowering peaches planted in large numbers on both sides of the river and in the mountains are truly magnificent, and I'm speechless. It really feels like a paradise. To take a photo of the whole of Hanamomo no Sato, you have to go from the top of the cliff on the other side. Before crossing the bridge with the carp streamers, take the road in front of Cafe Yamanaka on the opposite side of the road and walk for about 10 minutes up a steep hill (during this period, cars are not allowed to enter). The rooms also have baths, making it perfect for a private getaway. 💞Reason 1: The hot spring is smooth. There is also a private family bath, which can be used at no extra charge if it is available. 💞Reason 2: The food is very delicious, and varies depending on the season. I went during Hinamatsuri season, and the tableware was cute. 💞Reason 3: There is a Noh theater at the entrance to the inn. Depending on the season, Hinamatsuri dolls are displayed, and you can actually watch Noh. When I went in March, Hinamatsuri dolls and Yakku dolls were displayed, and I was able to watch a traditional puppet show in the morning. #FuriTabi The first snowfall on Mt. Okawa! The first snowfall on the mountain. It's difficult to access too far into the mountains, so we entered the mountain at Okawa, which can be accessed directly from the main national highway, Route 153. The national highway was well cleared of snow, so normal tires were fine. As we continued to climb, the snow gradually increased. Since it was new snow, it was fluffy and beautiful. I don't think you often get to climb at a time like this. As we approached the peak, the vegetation changed. We were able to see the frost-covered trees known as "white sheep." As it continued to fall, the snow melted and turned to mud, and unfortunately we returned from another world to reality. I wonder if there will be another time like this to climb... Hirugami Onsen's Achi Village is renowned as Japan's number one starry sky village. From late April to mid-May, it transforms into a veritable paradise of peach blossoms. Near Hirugami Onsen, a 4-kilometer trail is lined with over 5,000 peach trees in shades of red and white. Adjacent to the trail is National Route 256, which connects the Ina Valley and the Kiso Road. Along this 40-kilometer stretch, tens of thousands of peach trees bloom, earning it the nickname 'Peach Blossom Road'.

For my first hot spring trip in a while, I went to Achi Village. The inn is called Oyado Sansui. It is basically accessible by car, but there is also a plan with a shuttle bus from Nagoya Station. This time, I easily traveled there and back by bus. The hot spring has a large communal bath and an open-air bath, which are separate for men and women. They switch depending on the time. The open-air bath while watching the starry sky is the best. There is also a foot bath near the lobby that you can use freely, and it was very relaxing to look at the garden. It is a place so rich in nature that you can hear the frogs croaking at night. Both dinner and breakfast are made with seasonal ingredients and are delicious. This is my second time here, but next time I would like to go when the peach blossoms are in bloom. There is a morning market just a short walk from Sansui Inn. It is easily accessible from other inns, so it was crowded with tourists. They even had handmade jams, apple juice, honey, and handmade colorful basket bags. The Achi River flows nearby, and you can hear the babbling of the river, so it's refreshing and cool to stroll around. Be careful, if you go after having breakfast from the inn, many shops will be closed. It is recommended to go early, as they won't sell out and are open. There are various accommodation plans at Oyado Sansui. I participated in the accommodation plan that includes cherry picking. There is a round trip bus from the inn to the cherry picking farm, and it takes about 7 minutes by bus. The farm here is the inn's own farm, and it is only for guests, so it is not crowded and you can spend a quiet time, which is recommended. The main variety was Sato Nishiki. After returning to the inn, I warmed up again in the inn's foot bath. After stopping by the morning market near the Sansui Inn, we decided to go for a walk around the Achi River. Achi Village is so quiet and beautiful that you can hear the babbling of the river even from afar. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and we couldn't see the stars, but we slept well and were able to get going early in the morning. On the way back, we bought some hot spring buns and ate them at the inn. It was a very satisfying morning walk. Tokai Kasugai Nature Trail is a place where we can find a lot of nature along the way up the mountain. It is a place where we can see Kasugai (Mirokusan Observatory) and there is also a beautiful cherry blossom and autumn leaves viewing point (Tamano Park) on the mountaintop. 📍Tamanomitake Shrine A cat shrine with cute and affectionate cats. We gently stroked the cat's head with care. It was like magic that made us not want to go anywhere. We wanted to sit and stare at its face and play with it all the time in the midst of beautiful nature. 📍Tamano enchi It is a beautiful nature park where you can sit and rest with a view of nature. The red apple leaves in summer are abundant. There is a cat shrine not far away. It is a place to visit in the rainy season in the midst of nature because we will hear the sound of raindrops, wind, and birds. #NaganoTourism I posted it at Hirugami Onsen because it doesn't appear in the sightseeing spots, but the photo is of the peach blossom village in Tsukikawa Onsen, which is a little further away. Hirugami Onsen also has peach blossoms and they are very beautiful, but Tsukikawa Onsen is truly a paradise. The best time to see them is usually around Golden Week. It's a single road, so be prepared for traffic jams.

Cafe Hokinoki Cafe Hokinoki is located inside the Hakkikikan. A cozy cafe with a view of the Southern Alps and surrounded by handmade tables and chairs.
