[Nagano Prefecture, Hanamomo Village] A veritable paradise

Achi Village, located on the border between Nagano and Gifu Prefectures, is known for its "best starry sky in Japan," but recently it has become more well-known as "Hanamomo no Sato." (I'm one of those who only recently found out about this...) There are 5,000 flowering peaches of three varieties, red, white, and pink, planted in Hanamomo no Sato. Unlike regular peaches, flowering peaches are not edible, but are for decoration, so local people took the trouble to plant them. I'm very grateful. The flowering peaches that bloom in Hirugami Onsen in early April will increase in altitude over time, and bloom in Hanamomo no Sato in late April. The flowering peaches planted in large numbers on both sides of the river and in the mountains are truly magnificent, and I'm speechless. It really feels like a paradise. To take a photo of the whole of Hanamomo no Sato, you have to go from the top of the cliff on the other side. Before crossing the bridge with the carp streamers, take the road in front of Cafe Yamanaka on the opposite side of the road and walk for about 10 minutes up a steep hill (during this period, cars are not allowed to enter). This is also recommended if you have the stamina.
