Stunning church inside a salt mine!
Country 🗺️: Colombia 🇨🇴
Name📝: The Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá
Address📍: Parque De La Sal, Zipaquirá, Cundinamarca, Colombia
Opening hours 🕰️: 0900-1800 Monday to Sunday
Famous for✨ its unique location - deep under a mine! The church is over 100 metre down the mine. You need to wear a helmet all the way and there are stops for you to check if you feel fine.
There are many large crosses and statues of Jesus and angels inside the church, with lighting of different colours to highlight the beauty of different parts. Really amazing experience!

Stunning cathedral deep inside a mine!
Name of place🔖: Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira
City: Bogota, Colombia 🇨🇴
What’s special ✨: the entrance of this cathedral is actually on a hill so you need to take a taxi or bus to get there. When you arrive, there’s a tour guide to give you background information about the mine, why there is a church inside (basically there are too many accidents inside mines in general so people want God’s presence in the mine with the miners - Colombia is a Catholic country).
The scale, architecture and decoration of the cathedral inside are eye-opening. It can blow people away and there are definitely many instagram photo spots!

Niche, but stunning - just how much fun is Colombia? About Colombia.
TA is a colorful South American country.
Tourism resources are extremely rich: the bright beaches of the Caribbean, the tropical rainforests of the Amazon, the snow-covered Andes Mountains, bustling cities beyond your imagination, and many famous historical sites listed as world heritage sites.
Travel Guide
Station 1: Bogotá, the largest city in Colombia, the Athens of South America.
Salt Cathedral: The world's largest underground salt mine cathedral, located in the mountain town of Zipaquirá about 48 kilometers from Bogotá, is known as the "architectural gem of Colombia" and the "first wonder of Colombia".
Lake Guatavita: a small body of water located in the crater of a volcano surrounded by forests in the northeast, said to be the center of the "Golden Kingdom" and one of the "Six Great Treasures of the World". From afar, the emerald green Lake Guatavita looks like a green gemstone embedded among the surrounding mountains.
Station 2: Bogota
The Monserrate Mountain in the north of the city: there is a white church on the top of the mountain, which can be climbed on foot or by cable car. Almost all tourists come here to see the panoramic view of Bogotá.
The Gold Museum: the museum with the most collection of gold artifacts in the world, housing thousands of gold products and exhibiting many jade products, including the largest jade in the world.

## Once the Indians were beaten with salt whales here, they couldnt wake up every day. In order to pray for their survival, they built a slippery altar in the mine. The environment, dim and damp, repressed with a heavy sense of life, how to say, people still have to have a belief.
