All Moments About Palermo
Italy | Sicily
Palermo, the capital of Sicily, is a port city located in the northwest of the island. Sicily is located southwest of the Apennine Peninsula, near the Tyrrhenian Sea's Gulf of Palermo. It is the largest island in the Mediterranean and the largest city in Sicily. It is also a natural harbor with a rugged terrain.
Palermo Cathedral was built in 1184 and completed in the 18th century. It is a fusion of many architectural styles. In 1184, the bishop began to build a Norman church on the site of a mosque. In the 13th century, it was influenced by Gothic architecture, and in the 15th century, it incorporated Spanish architectural styles. The Gothic double spire windows and arches, the Catalan-style porch and columns, and the Muslim-style geometric patterns of the apse are all perfectly integrated. The interior of the church is a Norman-style semicircular hall, which is large and empty. It is the burial place of the Norman royal family. The underground treasure house displays a variety of jewelry, all of which belonged to Queen Costanza di Aragon.
After visiting Palermo Cathedral, head to the Italian restaurant La Galleria in the alley behind it. The restaurant serves delicious seafood pasta in large portions that will not disappoint.

Eusrostars palace hotels
Memories of travel. When I lived, it was called the Central Palace Hotel.. It seems that it has been acquired by Eurostar recently.. The hotel is located in the ZTL area. Pay attention to communicate with the hotel to avoid violations. This hotel was once the noble Palazzo Tarallo Palace of the 18th century, located in the center of Palermo, just a few steps from the magnificent cathedral and the famous Via Maqueda. The hotel used to be a magnificent aristocratic residence, in
After expert-level restoration in 2003, it regained its original glory. The decoration materials and furniture of the hotel have been carefully selected, and the original architectural style of the hotel is carefully preserved, so that the hotel has a special charming charm and unique personality. The main floor of the hotel is equipped with luxurious murals and precious antique furniture, creating a magical atmosphere like the novel "The Leopard". The hotel has 5 well-equipped conference rooms. Restaurant 1892 is an ideal place for lunch or dinner for various special events, as well as wedding receptions and buffets or dinners. The above is copied from ***.. This old hotel feels like walking in a maze. When I stayed there, I felt so-so in the guest room. I don't know how it is now.

Palermo city was a charm 🇮🇹

Visiting Palermo was an unforgettable experience! 🏛️ My day began with a stroll through the vibrant markets of Ballarò and Vucciria, where you can savor fresh local produce and street food. The entrance to the Palermo Cathedral was free, and its stunning mix of architectural styles is worth exploring. ⛪ For a small fee of around €8, I toured the Cappella Palatina inside the Norman Palace, which features breathtaking mosaics.
Nearby, the picturesque Piazza Pretoria and its impressive fountain were highlights, as well as the peaceful Orto Botanico, perfect for a relaxing walk. 🌿 The blend of history, culture, and cuisine made my Palermo trip truly special. #trip #Palermo #Sicily #TravelTips #ItalianTravel #HistoricalSites
Palermo, the capital of Sicily
As soon as you enter the streets of Palermo, the capital of Sicily, you can see three architectural styles: ancient Roman, Byzantine, and Arabic. It can be seen that this place has experienced countless cultural baptisms; from the night and day of the Quattro Corner, you can see the significance of local history. The grandeur of the Palermo Cathedral and the gorgeous design of its interior attract us to stop and appreciate it; walking along the beach, you can experience how leisurely and comfortable the life of the island residents is. Wandering along the Mediterranean coast is worth a visit!

Archeological museum 🗿
📍How to get there: Piazza Olivella 10, Palermo. Next to the central post office.
✔️Ticket: 6 euros
✔️Working hours: from Tuesday to Friday, 9:00-13:00, 15:00-17:00.
It’s the oldest museum in Sicily. It contains a great collection of Ancient Greek art. Some of the historical items are dated 4th/5th century BC. The buildings of the museum itself is a true masterpiece also. It was built in 17th century. In the middle of the museum there is a small yard with a fountain and a small garden.
For now the second floor of the museum, church and the oratorium are under renovation. But the first floor can impress a lot!
It’s a good place to spend a couple’s of hours and to know more about the history of Palermo.

Restaurant was modern and chic looking. Servers was fast and helpful. We were immediately shown to our table. They were patient too as it can be chaotic to take the order for a large group. Food was amazing. Cooked perfectly and the portion was big too. We were allowed to pack our unfinished food.

Best hot chocolate I have ever had.
Spinnato at Piazza Castelnuovo serves the best hot chocolate we had ever had such that we went there 4 times in the 3 days we were at Palermo. So good!!!! It is not a chocolate drink but instead, it is like melted chocolate. I do not know how they make their hot chocolate so the best way I can only describe is melted chocolate. It is hot and has a thick and smooth consistency. not the watered down type.
There are different hot chocolate creations for you to choose and I am sure you will be spoilt for choices.
There is 2 Spinnato facing each other, one sells coffee and one sells chocolate. You can sit at either of them and place order for any item.
Go for the original hot chocolate or their specialty coffee such as cognac coffee which warms you up in the cold

Spaggia di Mondello in Palermo, Italy 🇮🇹
Spiaggia di Mondello has a strong reputation among the locals as being one of the best touristic spots to visit in all of the city of Palermo in Sicily.
It is a great place for a swim in the summer with wide open spaces and plenty of places to eat at as well.
It is rather easy to get here following a gps and the bus routes in the city. It is not so far from the city center either but is not so far walkable to this destination so take the bus or a car.
There are many businessmen near the area selling gifts and there are shops with specific souvenirs tourists would want.
I would definitely say it is worth a visit. During my trip in the spring it was warm and still not too hot.
Definitely recommended.

Cattedrale di Monreale, Sicily, Italy
#Overseas Travel
What a glittering church! Very surprising~
The Cattedrale di Monreale, a cathedral located in Monreale, a suburb of Palermo, was built around 1174 and is also listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
The hall is filled with golden mosaics and murals that depict 42 stories from the Bible, with the characters carved to be lifelike!
The giant mosaic of Jesus inside the dome is the focal point of the church. The organs on both sides are also very eye-catching!
It is hard to imagine how the artists used to piece together all the murals in the church with tiny pieces of mosaic.
The golden mosaic tiles are very vivid in color, especially when illuminated by light.
The monastery next to the church is also worth visiting. The Romanesque arcade columns in the courtyard are also decorated with mosaics. The mosaics on each column are a little different, which is very architectural.

Church built on a cliff
#Overseas Travel
The light yellow facade looks like an ordinary church, but it is actually not ordinary at all! If you look closely, you will find that the church is nestled on the stone cliffs of the nearby mountains. This unique building is known as one of the most fascinating religious buildings in Italy.
Built around 1625, it contains a church and a monastery that extends 25 meters into the caves. When you walk in, you will find a solemn temple hidden in the dark cave.
From Palermo in Sicily you can take a bus to Monte Pellegrino.

Historic Castle|Tonnara Bordonaro
Tonnara Bordonaro is a late 15th century building🤩🤩castle🏯🏯 located in Vergine Maria in Palermo
After centuries of history, it became the monument it is today, while retaining the former tower.
A long time ago, there used to be a tuna production factory 🏭🏭 and there was a tuna boat inside. Later, the roof was too old and dilapidated... so the tuna boat was also in bad condition...
Now it has become a historic site. The surrounding environment is beautiful. There are green grass + beaches with unparalleled sea views🏖️🤩🤩. A beautiful historic scenery❤️

Located in the northwest of Palermo, this is a classic and famous attraction.

This villa has been the main and important residence of the noble Valguarnera family. The origins of the building date back to the 16th century, but the villa adopted its current appearance in the late 18th century. In fact, at that time the Valguarnera family renovated the existing structure, giving it a more Baroque look and enriching it with paintings, frescoes and other works of art.

Although i
Although it is mostly known as Tonnara Bordonaro, Palermo’s Tonnara Vergine Maria officially shares its name with the old fishing village that developed around the tuna fishing and its processing facility. For the past 70 years this magic place has been abandoned but recently has been used for cultural events and entertainment. This place is full of history and it’s located just next to Palermo’s beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea!

I managed to visit #palermo as part of my cruise ship trip. It is located in the #sicily island of #italy and it shows a bit different culture and architecture than most of the other places of the country. There are many churches, Parthenon, palaces and many small squares. There are also nice shopping opportunities around the place. It is easily accessible because of the cruise ship terminal and the airport nearby.

Byzantine
Byzantine art is a historical heritage that spans the millennium and is also the yearning for the ancient empire. The medieval Byzantine Empire, from architecture, literature, art to clothing, left an indelible influence on later generations. The mosaic inlays with representative features have also become Byzantine style ICON!
is full of Byzantine style. The empire has fallen in the long history, but the legacy of the empire has long been integrated into the roots of Sicily. Perhaps this is what Sicily should look like.
