Superb service and a truly delightful experience having breakfast at Spice Brasserie. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, presenting a fantastic selection with Myanmar, Chinese, Western, and South Indian foods that were irresistibly delicious and varied daily to ensure freshness and enjoyment. The fresh Mooh Hin Gar and Indian-style palata with potato were incredibly tasty. I felt very welcomed throughout my breakfast at Spice Brasserie, and I'll certainly return. I visited Papilio with my siblings for the Hi-Tea set and it was an afternoon to remember. The food was superb—definitely more valuable than the cost. Each dish was fresh, tasty, and attractively arranged. The atmosphere was classy and opulent, combined with a tidy and welcoming vibe that made us feel at ease. The service was exceptional—staff were attentive, courteous, and highly professional. It's a fantastic place for sharing special moments and creating lasting memories with family or siblings.

We spent 6 days and 5 nights at PARKROYAL Yangon with our family and had an amazing experience. Special thanks to Mr. Gary (GM), Ms. Zar Zar, and the entire team for their excellent hospitality that made us feel at home, just like in Malaysia. We were very moved when the hotel provided a sajada and Quran for us as we are Muslims, and they also surprised us with a complimentary dessert on Malaysia's Independence Day, knowing we're Malaysian. On 13th August, coinciding with my birthday, I journeyed from Kuala Lumpur to Yangon for the first time. I chose to stay at the ParkRoyal Hotel Yangon, where the hotel team greeted me with unexpected warmth and unforgettable hospitality. During check-in, the management surprised me with a birthday cake, accompanied by guitar music and warm wishes from the front desk staff. Upon entering my room, I was deeply touched by welcome messages from the Front Office Manager and a birthday cake, with a personal note on the table. It truly made my day feel special. Throughout my time there, I encountered exceptional service. The hotel was very clean and meticulously kept, and my room was cozy and well-equipped. The staff were consistently attentive and eager to help. At one point, I dealt with some noise disturbance from another room at night, and when I contacted the Duty Manager, the issue was swiftly resolved. To my surprise, I received a plate of fresh fruits with an apology note. My sincere gratitude goes to Mr. Gary, the General Manager, and the entire ParkRoyal Yangon team for their superb hospitality. This was genuinely a memorable visit, and I eagerly anticipate returning in the future.

Welcoming staff. Vast and roomy accommodations. Expansive bathroom. The sole downside is the limited lighting in the room. Thankfully, this is only noticeable at night since the full-length windows provide plenty of daylight. The rooms might seem slightly dated, and some areas of the flooring creak. The location is excellent, with numerous dining options nearby. Once more, the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive.

The main deity worshipped here is the sea godess Mazu, especially popular among Hokkien Chinese who originate from what is nowadays called Fujian on the Southeast coast of China. The temple is probably close to the jetty because this is where Hokkien Chinese traders docked when they arrived over 150 years ago. Keep in mind that in those days traveling overseas was a risky undertaking and the traders wanted to express their gratitude to Mazu and of course reassure her protection on their return. This temple is the oldest Chinese temple in Yangon. Originally there was a wooden structure completed in 1863. It was replaced by the present-day brick building in 1903. Over the years ornamentation was refined. Note the beautiful carvings and painting work at the center of the main hall. The temple is still very much in use. Believers come to bring offerings, burn candles and pray. No fees for foreigners. Free admission for all people regardless of nationality..

What a lovely, impressive, monumental pagoda! It is overlooked because of its proximity to the Shwe Dagon Pagoda. The pagoda is very tall, golden, shiny, elegant, and unique in style! The pagoda has magnificent door entrances, and it is one of the very few pagodas that you can visit inside. The interior is interesting, a little bit childish. The wooden work and the exhibits are interesting. There is no entrance fee. There was only a backpacker and a few locals; in reality, there were fewer than 10 people. The soil is very clean. The pagoda is quiet. We saw it at sunset, and it is stunning. It is at the opposite site of the southern entrance of Shwe Dagon. What a very good surprise! #travel#thingstodo#familytravel

#thingstodo I had been to Yangon many times before COVID, but never stepped once into this church. Here, I was on my way back to hotel from Junction City, and was attracted by the church's architecture. I attended the Sunday Service ! Most of the prayers are in English, while songs of worship are in Burmese. Doxology in Burmese is beautiful. Amidst the domestic situation, it is heartening to note there are believers who kept their faith. This is an Anglican church that dates back to 1886. One can imagine the British presence in those days. Although it cannot be compared to more majestic churches in Europe, it is still a well-known landmark in Yangon. On a notice board, I found a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2015. It must have been a popular tourist stop back then. When normalcy returns, I recommend a stop-by at Holy Trinity, and if on a Sunday, do participate in their worship service. I donated a small sum towards collection to support their spirit.

Entry fee: 10,000 MMK paid to a man in uniform, plus 3,000 MMK for alter flowers & an umbrella (didn't seem like you could say no to the offerings). Time required: About an hour. The pagoda is interesting and you'll see Buddhists finding the Buddha labeled with the day of the week they were born on. The pilgrim then splashes one cup of water for each year of life to date onto that Buddha to bring good fortune in the future. How the experience could be improved: luckily, there's not much traffic there so that allows a slow meander around the octogon. I would suggest cleaning up the entrances as they are cluttered with things that belong in a back room and detract from the grandeur of the experience. An entrance foyer shouldn't be a place to have laundry drying, for example. Also, there's a lovely, lovely elevated pedestrial bridge to the mosque across the street. It's closed and no one is allowed to use it. Isn't it delightful that it was built though? It is such a lovely metaphor for how we should build bridges across differences. Why not allow people to use it? Who knows? It could bring good fortune in the future. The Wikipedia page on Sule Pagoda has lots of information about it. Cafe KSS down the street has a nice passion fruit juice you can order to cool off afterwards.
