I didn't expect we would stay in Bangkok for five days

Although many people use Bangkok as a transit hub and only stay for 1-2 days before heading to Pattaya or Chiang Mai, we stayed in Bangkok for five days and still felt it wasn't enough. It's better to register for Grab in your home country because it requires a verification code, which might be hard to receive in Bangkok (I couldn't receive the verification code at all in Bangkok, luckily Fei had completed the registration beforehand, otherwise it would have been 'embarrassing'). Grab has a good response time for calling a ride (including motorcycles), and the prices are fixed. If you're worried about credit card fraud, you can ask the driver to accept cash, and they won't refuse, but try to prepare small change to avoid issues with change. Tuk-tuk: The local app is called Muvimi, which prevents you from being overcharged, but you can't call a tuk-tuk from another district, and you can't withdraw money after topping up, which is a bit inconvenient. ✓Book hotel + flight (prepare electronic itinerary) The airline staff said that customs might ask about it when entering the country. If you have a round-trip ticket, 10,000 Thai Baht is enough; if you don't have a return ticket, you need 20,000 Thai Baht (they just want you to spend money). A day trip in Koh Lan in Pattaya, Thailand. Very easy and cheap to get in the small island in Pattaya. Just take ferry at Bali Hai Pier for only 30 bath ($2.8 Aud) for 30-45 minutes. If you want to go to the different beaches around the island just rent motorcycle for 300 bath ($14.75 Aud) a day. The food are cheap and reasonable. There were a lot of Chinese, Indian and local Thai tourists around Tawean beach as people like to swim there. There are Songtell mini bus that can take you around the island which is very cheap. The water is crystal clear in Tien beach and there will be the geese come out at 2pm for you to take a photo with. We spent some time in Pattaya and visited Koh Larn, it is a wonderful little island located in the Gulf of Thailand. Koh Larn is situated about 7km off the coast of Pattaya Beach and Pattaya is only about a two hour drive south of Bangkok, depending on traffic. The main beach is very busy so you can try to walk a bit farther to enjoy it better. Beautiful light blue water and white sand. The water is a bit wavey but it's okay you can still enjoy it. #pattaya #pattayatravel #relaxation #beach Pattaya Part 1 Pattaya could very well be my favorite city in Thailand. The city is conveniently located about 1.5 hrs away from Bangkok. The bus tickets are cheap around 110-150 baht one way. The buses leave hourly from Mo Chit bus station to Pattaya. It is a pain getting to the bus station itself however. It has a lot to offer to holidayers with various interests to each of their own. From its pristine beaches to the bustling nightlife, Pattaya has something for everyone. Stood on either Pattaya or Jom Tien beaches which open out into the ocean with the city skyline in the background, you can get immersed into the two contrasting views of Pattaya. If you are someone looking for “nature” side of Pattaya, then hop on the next ferry available from Bali Hai pier. There are two ferries bound for Ko Larn island which will arrive at different piers. In order to go to Nabaan pier, there are 7 different departing times starting from 7:00 am with the last one leaving Pattaya at 18:30 pm. The other ferry leaves for Tawen beach pier starting from 8:00 am to 13:00 pm. You can return to Pattaya from 13:00 pm onwards up until 17:00 pm using the same pier. The price of the ferry is very cheap only costing 30 baht for a single journey. You can also hire private boats to Koh Larn too and they are far more expensive. The ferries take about 1:30 hrs more or less depending on the weather and the tides. There are enough life vests for everyone in the ferries too which provided a sense of safety for somebody who cannot swim like myself.

Koh Larn is an island off the coast of Pattaya, a tropical island with lots of interesting activities. Getting here is easy by taking the public ship from the port in pattaya which costs 30baht each way and it takes around 30mins to get to the island. The island is pretty small and you can explore in less than a day. There are lots of motorbike rentals which cost more or less 300baht and you can use the bike for the whole day including the gasoline already. Starts My Journey 2024 in Thailand

My trip this year started in Thailand. I've been here many times, but I always enjoy coming back. Thailand offers a variety of attractions, and I have Thai friends who show me around to local favorites. This time, my friend took me on a food and drink tour in Bangkok and then to an island not far from the city. We drove from Bangkok to Laem Bali Hai Pier and took a speedboat or ferry to Koh Larn, knowing my love for the sea. Koh Larn is stunning with its clear blue waters and beautiful beaches. I was impressed by the scenery and atmosphere. There were many activities to enjoy, like snorkeling, squid fishing, and various water sports. The island also has lovely cafes and delicious seafood restaurants. We had a great time dining and drinking. The next day, it was time to fly back. I picked up some souvenirs at Duty-Free, focusing on Thailand's famous fruits like durian and mango. There were many products with mango and durian flavors. I got a little souvenir. One of the items I got was a King Power Mango Wafer. It was tasty and easy to eat, but the mango flavor was subtle. I also bought a King Power Durian Roll, which was very delicious and addictive (maybe because I love durian!). My family enjoyed it too. Another interesting purchase was ElepTea Thai Tea, which comes in three flavors. The orange box contains the original flavor, which is a famous Thai flavor. My brother asked me to buy this one for him because he had visited Thailand before and bought it. It's the brand's renowned product. The other two flavors are durian and mango, which are cute and unique. The taste is like strong Thai tea with a hint of durian/mango. It's not too sweet and quite delicious. I really like these two (maybe because I like mango and durian). I gave some to my friends, and they liked it too. Overall, it was a joyful trip filled with fun activities and good memories with my friend. I can’t wait for my next adventure! #trip
