Walking along the beach with your loved one, with warm sand beneath your feet and the sound of waves in the distance, the romantic atmosphere is simply perfect. This is the ideal vacation spot for couples! 🏄A Wide Range of Activities, Full of Fun There are so many water activities here, like surfing, diving, and sailing. I tried snorkeling and saw colorful corals and tropical fish. It was like entering an underwater fairy tale. Because the place where I live is closer to Dolphin Bay, I can go out at seven o'clock, and if it is estimated to go out at six o'clock in other places. So I am glad to choose the place to live. Mauritius is a place where you can watch dolphins all year round, so you have to go to the sea to see dolphins and choose to go to Mauritius. The dolphins here really come together. You can also see Mount Mona in Dolphin Bay. I have always felt that Mount Mona is very beautiful, and it is like a blue sky and white clouds and blue sea. It is like a famous painting. But when I learned about the story of Mona Mountain, I was deeply moved, and I saw the beauty of Mount Mona in the distance. Legend has it that in the early 19th century, a group of slaves fled to the peninsula to escape from the top of the mountain to ensure their freedom. It is said that before the group of slaves began to flee, they did not know that slavery had been abolished and became very alarmed when they saw a group of soldiers marching towards the cliff. They firmly believed that the soldiers appeared to catch them back, so a large number of slaves jumped from the cliff and died. The rock is named after it, and the meaning of Mona is "sad."

Sugar Beach in Mauritius is an absolutely stunning resort, but what truly elevates it is the exceptional staff. Each member was extremely friendly and accommodating. Special recognition goes to Mrs. Anuradha Servais for her incredible service. She truly made the experience seamless and fun. Be sure to request her when you visit; she'll ensure you feel right at home. When we feared we couldn't secure a reservation at Mare Mare, a restaurant at Sugar Beach, she made it happen.

We went dolphin watching but were appalled at the irresponsible and selfish behaviour of the dolphin swimming boats and swimmers. Sam found a bottle nosed dolphin and within minutes seven boats turned up, surrounding the dolphin with no regard for the 5 metre rule. Dozens of shouting and whistling people jumped in and it disappeared. Sam moved on to another spot wherehe knew a pod of spinners were. Sure enough we saw and enjoyed them briefly before the same mob of swimming boats arrived and did it again. Sam moved on where he found a large pod of bottle nosed which he quietly moved around. They responded by cooperating with wonderful sightings close to us. I enjoyed another wonderful holiday, my fourth in Mauritius and third at Sugar Beach, primarily due to the exceptional staff: roommate Natacha, baggage handler Vijay, pool attendant Shorab, along with Kadir, Santoo, Scyam, Natascha, and Somrah during breakfast and dinner. Anuradha checked in with us each morning, asking about our plans and offering helpful advice. Her efforts to make our stay pleasant were greatly appreciated, including a thoughtful birthday surprise. From the moment you arrive, the warm and inviting atmosphere created by staff who truly love their jobs shines through.

Celebrating our honeymoon on an island with sandy shores, lovely people, and excellent cuisine was truly a dream come true. La Pirogue surpassed our expectations. Kavita organized a fabulous wedding, Jean Pierre captured some wonderful photos, and the restaurants, especially Coconut Bar with Dauvien, Suman, and Trinity, made our stay superb. The resort also houses a remarkable Glow Spa—we can vouch for all the therapists there, offering exceptional massages! We can't wait to return!

This was the finest hotel and beach experience for me and my family, including our two kids (ages 9 and 11). The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to Krishnee at reception for her assistance in organizing activities and arranging an early breakfast on our tour day. The entire facility is delightful—starting with the stunning pool and beach area, pristine water, and ample space at the beach with chairs and umbrellas for everyone. The buffet restaurant offers a diverse selection of dishes, while the two beach a-la-carte restaurants serve excellent food, drinks, cocktails, and above all, offer breathtaking ocean views. Be sure to opt for the all-inclusive package; you'll be thrilled not to worry about any extra expenses.

Five stars across the board, from the devoted and considerate beach staff (don't miss the incredible Farley) to the teen club team (Lovyn and team) to all the chefs and sous-chefs across the variety of internationally welcoming restaurants and buffet, offering the consistent home-style dishes you expect. This hotel delivers an all-inclusive 5-star family friendly vibe but with the quality and amiable service of a luxury resort, featuring diverse activities, adventure programming, and evening entertainment.

Spent a wonderful 7 nights at this resort in August. The service was delightful and the resort had a laid-back vibe. The weather was warm but not hot, with some wind typical for this season. Priya from housekeeping (the manager) and Rechad (the head of the minibar) were fantastic, resolving an issue of the minibar not being replenished so well that we lacked for nothing. My son enjoyed the croquet as well. As a family, I'd recommend a larger room than the twin we had, but unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked. The food was excellent, and the evening buffet remained interesting. The grounds were spotless and the gym well-equipped. Having visited Mauritius before, we skipped touring and just settled on the beach, which led to many family squabbles while kayaking. The beach itself was lovely for swimming and beach service was prompt, with a call button to summon a waiter. Special thanks to Nasser at the beach bar restaurant who was always cheerful and kind.

My husband and I stayed at Sugar Beach from September 10th to 18th. From our arrival to departure, the service was flawless. The hotel and grounds are gorgeous and well thought out. Every aspect of service, from the room maintenance teams who provided warm and attentive care, to the Buddha beach bar staff who were welcoming and professional, was outstanding. The Spa was beautiful with friendly and well-informed therapists, and the kitchen team delivered high-quality dishes daily, supported by an incredible front-of-house team. We recently spent a two-week vacation and, as a Hilton Diamond Member, I can sincerely say this hotel is outstanding, primarily because of the staff. Among all the hotels we've visited as a family, this was our top choice for several reasons: Upon arrival, Maria greeted us with a refreshing drink and warm welcome after our 22-hour journey. She showed us our impressive room and was fantastic throughout our entire stay. The hotel boasts lovely restaurants, with Ginger Thai being a favorite. Bhavis Sadoo, a remarkable waiter, catered to us impeccably, especially considering our daughter’s allergies, and genuinely cared about our dining experience. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the spa, while my husband and I relished Yoga and Tai chi sessions. We ensured we tried all the free water sports, and Sachin consistently went above and beyond, even arranging for us to enjoy sunset paddleboarding despite not having a reservation. Kapeel was a pleasure to converse with, ensuring our evenings were well spent. The beach bar was delightful, and Ryan Berthelot's genuine care for his guests' enjoyment was exceptional, alongside his colleagues. Thanks to the staff for truly making our holiday extraordinary. The food in all the restaurants was superb, and breakfast was relaxed with plenty of options. The hotel’s location is ideal; we rented an Avis car, which was conveniently delivered to the hotel, allowing us to explore the island. Manager Lindley gave us numerous tips on destinations like Le Morne and Black River National Park, always checking in to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. P.S. The swimming area features great pools, and I loved the lap pool for daily swims too 😀

We absolutely adored our stay at La Pirogue. Even when the resort was at full capacity， it never felt crowded. An unexpected highlight was the buffet. I usually have reservations about buffet-style dining， but La Pirogue completely won me over. The food quality was consistently excellent， with an impressive variety to cater to every taste. The wine list was equally well curated， offering a great selection to complement each meal. Spent 3 nights at Sugar Beach Resort in July. It's a large resort lining a stunning beach with clear waters. The rooms are lovely; we stayed in a premium beachfront and an executive beachfront suite as a family of three. Both were spacious， well-equipped， with beautiful beach and water views. Food was excellent—a varied breakfast buffet， a la carte lunch with an expansive menu， and two a la carte restaurants (both of which are superb)—ensure to book these in advance! The main buffet restaurant offers diverse cuisines—you certainly won't go hungry! We stayed All Inclusive， and the drinks were great， with surprisingly good wine included in the package. There are two pools (a main and an adults-only)， a breathtaking long beach， and plenty of loungers—there's never a scramble for a spot. Staff have been fantastic， especially Vij (guest services manager) and Fazley (pool attendant)， who went above and beyond to make our stay special and relaxing. This is an excellent hotel for families， and I noticed the staff engaging young children in numerous activities. The pool and beach are safe for little ones， nearly perfect. During your stay at Sugar Beach， you can also use the facilities of its sister hotel next door， La Pirogue， expanding your dining options to six restaurants.Having stayed in numerous hotels in Mauritius， this one comes highly recommended if you're seeking a larger hotel with top-notch food， beverages， and children's activities. A standout moment was with my therapist， Priya. Having experienced spa treatments globally， her technique was exceptional. I learned she had worked on U.S. cruise ships for two years—and it shows. Her massage was rejuvenating， leaving me refreshed and revitalized.We also relished a delightful three-course lunch included in the package， with stellar service at the restaurant. Although I frequently travel internationally for work， this was my first vacation to Mauritius. The island's lush greenery was stunning. After a one-hour trip， I checked into the hotel， immediately impressed by the spacious lobby with a perfect beach view. We stayed at La Pirogue Hotel in Flic-en-flac， right next to its sister property， Sugar Beach—a short walk away. I can't commend this location enough. Whether you're planning a family getaway， a romantic trip， a honeymoon， or a wedding， look no further. It exceeds expectations in every way. Nestled in a colonial setting on one of the most stunning beaches I've ever seen， we lodged in a charming thatched garden bungalow close to all amenities. The staff were simply outstanding. Nothing was too much to ask for. We chose the all-inclusive option and never tired of the food selection across all the dining venues， including Sugar Beach Hotel， where dining is also permitted. The variety for breakfast， lunch， and dinner was plentiful. The food was top-notch， and the drink options were superb. It was comparable to the Maldives but offered much more. The beauty of Mauritius is awe-inspiring. Snorkeling， tennis， table tennis， glass-bottom boat rides， paddleboarding， and pedalos are all complimentary for guests on the all-inclusive package. I highly suggest booking a round at one of the two available golf courses. The kids' club is excellent. Sunbeds are comfortable and abundant—no need for early-morning races to reserve one. The pool areas are delightful. The staff are incredible. Many have been serving guests for over 40 years， which is remarkable. Too many staff to mention by name， but special thanks to Feroze， Anne-Sophie， Vijay， Jake， Jeeuian， and Kamla. If you're contemplating booking a vacation here， stop hesitating and book it. You won't be disappointed.

From the moment we arrived， we sensed we were in for an extraordinary experience—La Pirogue is pure paradise. Breakfast was exceptional， courtesy of the wonderful kitchen staff. Vik， the executive chef， and Faroz， our breakfast host， ensured we felt at home each morning. Dinner at Magenta Restaurant was sheer perfection. Jimmy looked after us， making every meal a highlight. Our room remained immaculate， thanks to the fantastic housekeeping team—we genuinely felt pampered. ★★★★★ – Unquestionably the best experience! Already yearning to return!

Excellent service from the moment we arrived until we departed! The staff is very well trained and shows great care in creating a memorable stay. Highly recommend and would love to return. Upon arrival， we were given a thorough tour of the resort featuring a lovely infinity pool， a spa， leisure center， complimentary yoga classes， and free water activities (must be reserved 24 hours in advance). The breakfast buffet offers numerous options with live stations (the egg and pancake stations were our favorites!). We had a half-board package that included a buffet dinner. The buffet dinner is themed—we enjoyed an Asian buffet and an Indian buffet during our stay. The bar is also open late and is a nice spot to relax if you prefer not to be by the pool. They have entertainment on some nights too. Our checkout was smooth， with the team providing us with water for our journey ahead. This place is ideal for couples seeking a relaxing holiday. It's not really a "party" resort， which is perfect if you want to enjoy nature and take in the scenery.

We spent a week in April， celebrating our 10th anniversary on a half-board basis with our two young children， and it was truly unforgettable. The Sofitel sits on the island's western coast， offering a secluded， quiet beach with stunning white sand. The sunset views are unmatched. The main international restaurant served excellent buffet meals for breakfast and dinner， with a great variety and live cooking stations. The chef's attention to allergies was commendable. The staff was incredibly helpful throughout our stay; Davina and Ishwari， in particular， were always available at the desk for support. Special thanks to Nawaz for expertly organizing excursions and sharing his extensive knowledge of the island. Daily provisions of fresh fruit and aperitifs in the room were a lovely touch. Complimentary shuttle services to the nature park， plus free water activities like kayaking， snorkeling， and pedaling on the private beach with nearby reefs， allowed us to glimpse fish and turtles. We definitely plan to return.
