Perfect sunset dinner in Paphos
When I’m on holiday, I love to bask in the sun whilst sipping on a cold beverage whilst soaking up some sun and delicious food!
Well, the pictures do not do this place justice! I was nervous to go there at first given some of the reviews I saw online with people commenting on disappointing food and service. BUT, for my visit everything was great - service was good and attentive and food was delicious!
MOST of all was enjoying the sunset in Paphos!

Paphos, pronounced /ˈpæfɒs/ (Greek: Πάφος [ˈpafos]; Turkish: Baf) is a coastal city in southwest Cyprus and the capital of Paphos District. In antiquity, there were 2 Paphos: Old Paphos, today known as Kouklia and New Paphos. New Paphos became the old town ruins by the marina which we will explore later on.
The city has no more than 36 000 inhabitants and a history that dates back to 300 B.C.. Paphos and Cyprus in general have changed hands over the course of its history many times.
From when the early Greek settlers arrived through to French aristocrats, Venetians, Turks and later on the British. Today the city is part of the independent nation of Cyprus although unification with Greece (enosis) remains a taboo topic.
Paphos is a tourist destination with the season stretching from March till October as temperatures don’t really go down. Some say winter is also good to come as you enjoy temperatures on average of 15° C.
The beaches in the Paphos area aren’t necessarily sandy like we’ve described in our Dominican Republic and Mexican trips. This doesn’t mean there isn’t sand either however entering the water can be a bit tricky given the rocky coastline.
Having said all of these, the coast line is filled with hotels that offer tourists a much needed retreat from today’s ever busy and congested world.

World Heritage Site: Tombs of the Kings
This is a vast ruin that spreads across the sand dunes along the sea, and is said to be the tombs of kings from the prehistoric era. It is also registered as a World Heritage Site.
There are many caves and holes, and you will be climbing up and down a lot, so we recommend wearing clothes that are easy to move in. Also, since there are many areas that are unobstructed, it is a good idea to take proper measures against sunburn on hot days.
There were also a lot of insects, so you will need insect repellent.
I recommend this place to anyone interested in ancient ruins.

Paphos Hilltop Market
This market facility is located on top of a hill in Paphos, near the bus terminal where buses to other cities also depart.
It is a short bus ride from the city center to the bus terminal. There is also an elevator from the bus terminal to the market.
It is like a shopping mall, with clothes, souvenirs, cafes, etc., and the white walls give it a stylish Mediterranean feel.
It is quite large, so it is worth checking out while you are on the bus.
