#2024Travel Review Flea markets are very popular in Europe, some are expensive and some are cheap. Feira dos Golfinhos, a dolphin market located in Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal, is a stall set up by local residents. It is held every fourth Sunday of every month at the Jardim Basílio Teles next to the Câmara Municipal de Matosinhos town hall. The products in the market include no shirts, no shoes, no bags, some jewelry, and more household items or Catholic relics, but the prices are affordable. After walking down the street, I stopped by the Matosinhos City Hall, and the photos of the buildings are so beautiful. Designed by architect Alcino Soutinho, when it was inaugurated on December 8, 1987, it was an iconic piece in the panorama of city halls across the country.

We took the subway from Porto to Matosinhos Beach, and the scenery along the way was beautiful. We first went to Lidl to buy barbecue spicy chicken wings, delicious strawberries, big juicy oranges, juice, and coconut-flavored yogurt. Have a picnic at the beach and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Take off your shoes and step on the very fine light yellow sand. It is so stress-relieving! Haiou also plays in the sand on the seaside. There are many Portuguese people here to play outdoor beach volleyball, beach football, and sunbathe. The graceful girls in bikinis, set against the nature of the sea and the sky, with the sea breeze blowing, everything seems like When we came to the paradise on earth, we also imitated the Portuguese and lay down on the beach to sunbathe and relax. It was so comfortable! If you have the chance, you can leave the crowd and come here to see another Portuguese style!

The pool is only open during summer and it can queue up at the ticket booth. Rating - 5/5 2. Address - Castelo do Queijo Highlights - This is a fortress castle at the Praia de Matosinhos. It's a small fortress with a cafe inside, and covers the history of Portugal and it's military over the ages. Entry is only €0.50 per person. Rating - 4/5 3. Address - Mercado Municipal de Matosinhos Highlights - if you want to get fresh fruit or seafood from the markets, this is the place to be. I’ve been to Portugal a few times now and never understood why they were so proud to have sardines as one of their national dishes. I had an extra day in Porto and instead of spending at the beach again I decided to book a tour at the Pinhais Factory. I thought it will be interesting seeing the process, I also had the chance to pack my personalised tin and a tasting. After the very informative tour, it came the time for the tasting. I had a can of sardines in spiced olive oil (their secret recipe), local sourdough bread and vihno verde (a type of wine found in Portugal). At the first bite of my piece of bread and sardines I was blown away. The sardines were so flavourful and they just melted in your mouth. Washing down the food with the wine was amazing. If you are in Porto please come here or at least buy the sardines (available at many stores around the city). You won’t regret it. #sardines #Seafood #seafoodlover

Our first full day in #porto and as it looks like rain the rest of the week we travelled on the Metro up to #Matosinhos , the fishing port of Porto. There's a beautiful Brutalist fish market to visit before wandering along a half mile parade of #seafood restaurants and choosing S. Valentim for a spectacular lunch of grilled squid, sardines, sautéed greens and rice. We then wandered down to the vast sandy beach to look at the sculptures and were particularly impressed by Anémona (She Changes) which resembles an enormous set of fishing nets fluttering in the wind. A 501 coastal bus took us south along the coast via Foz and up the Douro back to see the beautiful tiling of the #saobento railway station.

The beach is wide so it has plenty of space to lie down. I could feel the sand is very soft on my feet. The beach can be reached by metro, bus and tram from Porto. Imagine going to beautiful beach that easy. If you take tram, take no 1 which goes from Infante tram stop to Foz du Douro and then you need to walk to the beach along the coast for 50 minutes. But, the view is worth of the walk. Personally, I went to the beach from Porto with metro and back with tram.

I took a day trip to Matosinhos from downtown Porto. Definitely take the 500 bus from Porta - bus fare is so cheap and the ride takes you along the coast, so you get beautiful views of the beaches and surf waves. I grabbed lunch at a tiny Japanese eatery connected to a wet/fish market (fresh sushi and sashimi for only 12 Euros!!!) and booked a coffee class on Airbnb where I learned more about coffee beans, their countries of origin, the roasting process, and tasted some of the best coffees I have ever had in my life! #portugal #matosinhos #beachvibes
