The lobster pasta came with half a lobster 🦞, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, with a rich sauce, and the lobster was quite tender. The steak 🥩 was well-seared and cooked to the right doneness, with tender meat, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables, offering a rich flavor. As for drinks, this place offers a wide variety of coffee. I chose the caramel pudding fresh milk coffee, which had a crispy caramel top and a rich coffee flavor! After the closure of their upstairs branch on Nathan Road, the Jordan branch on Woosung Street seemed to be the only one left. However, six months ago, Plato opened a new branch on the outdoor terrace of YM² in Kwun Tong, and recently, they also opened a third branch in Mikiki, San Po Kong 🎊 During non-peak lunch hours on weekdays, the cafe is still about 70-80% full. If you want to dine here, it's best to arrive a bit early to secure a seat. The Kwun Tong branch offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor area mainly features booth seating, providing a spacious feel 👍. Near the entrance, there's a quote on the wall: 'I Can Do All Things Through HIM Who Strengthens Me.' Does it resonate with you? 😎 As always, their lunch sets are quite attractive 🤩. The cheapest salad is only $68, and the most expensive Australian rib-eye steak is $148 🥩, which includes a soup or garden salad 🥗 and a $32 drink. If you order a $46 latte like I did, you'll need to add $14 ☕️. There are also various snacks and desserts available for an additional charge. My friend and I added a homemade Japanese cheesecake for $28 🍰. It was a small piece, but the texture was smooth and slightly dense, with some cereal flakes as garnish, making it even more appealing 🤓 ✝️ Spanish Iberico Pork Chop with Apple Sauce $128 This boneless Spanish Iberico pork chop is quite thick 🐷, about 4-5cm. The most impressive part is that despite its thickness, you can still taste the tenderness and juiciness of the pork chop whether you cut it with a knife or bite into it 💦. The slightly crispy and charred flavor on both sides, combined with the sweet apple sauce, helps to cut through the richness. Paired with white rice, it's definitely filling 😌 ✝️ Herb Roasted Spring Chicken $98 This half herb-roasted spring chicken is visually and aromatically appealing 🔥. However, it tasted a bit too salty due to the extra seasoning 🤏. The cooking time was well-controlled, making the chicken incredibly tender. Paired with spaghetti, it helps to balance out the saltiness 🍝

Kwun Tong offers a wide variety of dining options, and this restaurant is located in Asia Pacific Center 1, close to the MTR, making it very convenient to get to. The interior is elegantly decorated and comfortable, with an outdoor terrace where you can bring your dog. The steak buffet includes unlimited steak and fries, with the option to add salad, daily soup, and dessert for an additional charge. Australian Premium Angus Steak I chose medium-rare, and the meat was tender and soft, with a smooth and elastic texture. The beef flavor was rich and the taste was enhanced with mushroom sauce and sea salt. The steak portions are generous, and one refill is more than enough. The hot fries are served in a bucket, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, definitely worth getting another bucket. The cream soup is smooth, and the Caesar salad is refreshing. Dessert is a chocolate mousse cake, rich and smooth. The mango and strawberry smoothies are refreshing and cool.

Freshly Steamed Dim Sum

Yesterday, I went to Yu Tao Heen Restaurant for tea🫖. It's usually very crowded, and it was packed! We tried their freshly steamed dim sum, and it was an extremely satisfying experience. The service here is excellent, and the dim sum is steamed to order, arriving at our table quickly, fresh, and piping hot. Absolutely delicious. First up was the Yu Tao Shrimp Dumplings. The dumpling skin was thin and translucent, encasing large, fresh shrimp. The shrimp was sweet and bouncy, offering a rich texture. The Ginger and Scallion Beef Tripe is another must-try dim sum. The tripe was cooked to perfection, with the aroma of ginger and scallion permeating every strand. It was crisp and flavorful. The Deep-Fried Fish Balls were crispy on the outside and tender and bouncy on the inside. Each fish ball was fried to a golden crisp. The Salted Vegetable and Black Pepper Pork Intestines is a very unique dim sum. The pork intestines were well-seasoned with a hint of black pepper aroma. They were crisp and juicy, paired with salted vegetables, creating a very distinctive flavor. The Angus Beef Rice Rolls were made with high-quality ingredients. The beef was tender and juicy, and the rice rolls were thin and smooth. The beef flavor was rich and aromatic. Finally, we had the Traditional Ma Lai Go, a very popular dessert. The Ma Lai Go was soft and fluffy with a moderate sweetness. Every bite was filled with traditional flavors. The freshly steamed dim sum at Yu Tao Heen Restaurant is definitely worth trying. Wonderful New Year Dinner at Family Restaurant

New year’s dinner with friends was an adventurous experience. We chose indoor barbecue at Meokbang BBQ n KIDZONE, a Korean restaurant in Kwun Tong. It’s the best family restaurant with a kid zone in town. The kids were so excited playing in the kid zone after having their meals, especially using their coins to get gifts. We ordered fresh beef, seafood, and pork for barbecue. All are fresh. The meat was tender and super yummy. Highly recommend that families with kids eat here. Egg and corned beef sandwich - this was the largest and thickest egg sandwich I had in my life! Omg soooo satisfying for an egg lover like me. The corned beef was not too salty and the ratio of beef to egg was just right. Satay beef rice with sunny side up egg - tender beef slices. The egg yolk merged perfectly with the smooth peanut butter flavor of satay. Deep-fried pork chop - not the baking soda tenderized kind of pork, still maintained its texture. Topped with a savory sauce with chopped garlic. Deep-fried wings coated in salted duck egg yolk - the wings were split into half but still crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Rich and buttery egg yolk but not too salty. Overall this restaurant offers good value for money - big portions, above average quality in general, efficient service. Affordable customizable set meals in Kwun Tong

Recently some restaurants in the Kwun Tong industrial buildings aren’t open on the weekends, so we decided to pay @bubble.tree a second visit. It was quite amazing that they only increased prices by single digits in four years while still maintaining such high quality! [Customised Set Meal] Soups, salads, desserts and drinks can be mixed and matched with any main dish (such as pastas, risottos, salads and sandwiches), so it took us a while to make up our minds before ordering at the cashier. We decided to get the pumpkin soup (+$8), which was a bit mild in taste but still had a nice creamy texture, as well as some hot drinks (+10) that both came with a pretty seahorse latte art. The green tea latte was quite smooth and milky while we totally didn’t expect the hazelnut flavour to be so prominent in the hot chocolate. (Tip: you can add different flavours like caramel and oreo crumble for free!) [Crazy Cheese Hida Beef] Despite the raw onion overload being a little too peppery for my picky taste buds, the burger was still delightful with a juicy Hida Wagyu beef patty and melted cheese. The seasoned french fries were also super delicious and crispy! [Caesar Salad with Smoked Salmon] Loved the fact that they used black croutons to add a charcoal spin on the classic caesar salad, which had a salmon rose, tomatoes, lettuce and raw onions (again!). Stumbled upon @wonderful.restaurant_ after yoga and did not expect to find such quality Western dishes in an industrial building in Kwun Tong 🤩 It was nice that the lunch sets were still available on the weekend. Each set included an appetizer, a main dish and a drink (standard coffee or tea) ☕️ We were quite impressed by the appetizers - the flavorful chicken base soup was full of soft onions 🧅 that went so well with the crispy garlic bread while the innovative carrot 🥕jelly salad topped with crunchy fried leaves was just like eating a healthy dessert 😍 [𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐋𝐨𝐢𝐧] This totally exceeded our expectations! The “Globe” Playground at Kwun Tong

On Sunday morning, we finally drop by the newly built playground everyone’s been talking and asking about. The one that gives the Japanese playground vibes. The one that seems to be different than most of the locals playground. I like the design of this park, how it makes full use of the spaces in hand. Ground floor is football ⚽️, upper floor with 🎾 tennis courts and finally first floor aka the platform is where the children playground located. Spacious and windy when we got there around 9.30 in the morning. Quite a small area, I must say. There’s 5 areas: 1. The fitness corner for adults 2. The globe play equipment 3. The merry-go-round 4. The swings 5. The trampoline My kids love “the globe” so much! It’s their favourite. Even we, the parents thought it’s fun, finally something different. The Globe has plenty of climbing nets which are perfect for kids to work on their balancing, core and coordination; then there’s 3 slides with the longest being the metal spiral slide. There are 3 different kind of swings. The you & me swing which we call it the flying swing because of the way we play it; the simple twin swing set and the shell nest swing where everyone play safely. I think I t’s rather important to spend time on swings because : - it increases spatial awareness - develop gross and fine motor skills in prep for physical activities because swinging engage multiple muscle groups at once - releases endorphins into the body, making children feel happier and more focused Honestly, the location is definitely inconvenient. If I have to come with kids, would probably take a cab instead of public transportation. But it is perfect if you’re driving, because there’s carpark at the park. Right by the Kwun Tong Promenade, @laserrehk is the perfect place for date nights with its extensive menu (including alcohol) and relaxing outdoor seating area 🥂 We were a little surprised that the restaurant was quite full on a Monday night. As the weather is super hot these days, we opted to sit inside near the windows. Food was promptly served with a hot butter bun and sun-dried tomato bread arriving first 🍞 [King Prawn Risotto in Tomato Sauce] The three prawns were super huge with a firm flesh 🤤 The rice had a rich seafood taste while the fresh tomato, cheese and mushroom added extra bursts of flavour. The texture of the rice was just the way we liked it - not too hard or soft with a slight chewiness 😍 [Baked Red Snapper Fillet with Coconut & Lemongrass Sauce] The essence of the dish was definitely the sweet coconut sauce, which went well with the soft boneless fish meat, herbed fries and side rocket salad 🥥The crispy fish skin was perfectly seasoned, so don’t skip it as it is a great source of nutrients! A Japanese-style upstairs cafe in Kwun Tong, @relishcafehk not only sells delectable yoshoku (western food), but also zakka (miscellaneous household items) 🇯🇵 The spacious wooden interior offers different types of seating: high tables, standard dining tables, comfy sofas, low coffee tables by the window and even an outdoor patio to soak up the sun (Tip: book in advance to skip the long queue on weekends) 🤓 The lunch set included a starter (soup or salad of the day), a main dish and a drink (basic coffee, brown rice tea or hawaiian iced tea). Our soup of the day was a creamy corn soup that came with a slice of crispy garlic toast 🌽 [Risotto with Slow-cooked Wagyu Cheek] This really exceeded our expectations, as the wagyu was so tender that it basically melted in our mouths. The explicit crunchiness of the fried lotus roots and cucumber dices also contrasted well with the soft rice, enhancing the depth of the dish 😍 [Roasted Wild Vegetables Quinoa Garden Salad] We got this healthy choice to save quota for dessert. Bubble Tree Located in an industrial area, Cafe offers breakfast, afternoon tea and regular set. I came around 6 o'clock and didn't have to wait for a seat. The seats are quite spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is free of a service charge Brown Mushroom, Avocado, Kale Potato Salad (Vegetarian) $57 Larger and richer portions than imagined. The salad has very rich ingredients, plus plenty of salad vegetables. The salad is made of salad vinegar instead of salad dressing, which makes it more appetizing and healthy. Crazy Cheese Japanese Hida Beef Burger with French Fries Salad $98 Seeing it was a hot seller to try it, the appearance is unbeatable, the fries salad for side dishes is very large portion. Today, I had the pleasure of tasting a freshly baked and very delicious 'Baked Pork Chop Rice' at 'Queen's Cafe' located in an industrial building in Kwun Tong. Although it's not an expensive dish, you can tell that the restaurant puts a lot of effort into both the ingredients and the preparation! The small shop also offers a variety of set meals, starting from just $59 for lunch, which includes a main course, soup, and a drink.
