A Five-Day Deep Tour of the Canadian Rockies - Banff National Park
As spring ends and summer begins, the Rockies are about to welcome their most glorious moments❤. The emerald lakes reflect the layers of distant mountains. In the early morning, you can wait for the 'golden sunrise' at Moraine Lake, where the sun's rays on the lake surface make it hard to tell if it's reality or a dream🙈.
Starting June 2nd, boat tours will be available on Lake Louise, where you can enjoy a gentle breeze on your face while boating in the heart of the lake🚣♂️. And there's the Tiffany blue💎 Lake Louise, sitting by the window of the Fairmont Hotel, it's simply wonderful. This hotel has been selected by Forbes as one of the 'Top Ten Hotels with the Most Beautiful Views in the World'.
Take the cable car to the top of Banff National Park and enjoy a panoramic view of the mountains, where the blue sky and white clouds seem within reach. Overlooking the entire Rocky Mountain range, surrounded by the sun and moon, as well as the mountains and rivers, this is probably the essence of traveling.
Starting in 2023, private cars are no longer allowed to enter Moraine Lake, so friends who want to drive themselves need to book a bus in advance. Or you can join our tour group, so you don't have to make the reservation yourself.

Vancouver | Jasper National Park
| Jasper National Park. Driving from Vancouver to Banff National Park, there are many beautiful lakes along the way. This is Jasper National Park.
Admission: Seems to be over forty Canadian dollars (adult)
Take a six or seven-minute cable car 🚠 ride up the mountain. Once there, you can walk as far as you want. The higher you go, the more beautiful it gets . The mountain paths are a bit tough to walk, and it can be slippery after the ice melts. Be careful and walk slowly when going up. After getting off the cable car, walked about a kilometer or so to reach a mountain peak. There's a lot of snow, and if it's not too crowded, standing on a big rock to take photos is really beautiful .
After leaving there, passed by a lake. Not sure what it's called, but the water is super clear! You can see the bottom! The reflection is super beautiful~
Drive along the highway, there won't be much food, so it's best to have more dry food in the car. You can buy when passing by supermarkets, but they are spaced out and only in towns will you find Walmart convenience stores and the like~
Stunning Jasper
Jasper National Park is one of a kind! If you love hiking, then you can’t miss this opportunity. The trails here are absolutely amazing. To top that off, Miette Hot Springs are right there too! We had a wonderful experience, just look at all the beautiful flowers all around! There will be mosquitos in the summer, but if you stay indoors in the evening, you will survive! #canada #travelinspiration #jasper #alberta #加拿大
🇨🇦 JASPER Canada by Via Rain
#jasper #canada #tour #via #rail #train
The distance from Vancouver to Jasper is about 19 hours, and it takes an hour to cross Alberta as the clock moves forward. The train usually departs from Vancouver Pacific Central Station at 3 p.m. and arrives at Jasper at 11 a.m. the next day, but the timetable may vary depending on the season.
Jasper is an alpine city in Alberta, Canada, and the commercial center of Jasper National Park. The park in the snow-covered Canadian Rocky Mountains has glaciated lakes, forests, and rivers. The Jasper Sky Tram climbs to the top of Whistler Mountain, where you can see the city..
Scenery and Wildlife Viewing at Jasper
We travelled to Jasper National Park in Canada in around end September to catch the Autumn colours, and hike a few of the mountains. We were pleasantly surprised to catch glimpses of wildlife too.
Jasper is the largest of all the Canadian Rockies national parks, which spans approximately 11,000 sq km (4,247 sq mi) from just south of Grande Cache to the northern edge of Banff National Park. To get to Jasper, we flew to Vancouver, rented a car and drove to Banff before arriving at Jasper (we wanted to explore both parks). While Banff is more popular, Jasper is more scenic and beautiful, and because it is relatively quieter, chances of spotting wildlife such as bears, goats, elk and bighorn sheep is much higher. Jasper is also the home to some incredible features, such as Mount Columbia (Alberta's tallest mountain) and Maligne Lake (second-largest glacial-fed lake in the world). It is surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
There are so much which one can do in Jasper such as hiking, biking, camping, fishing or simply driving/walking around to enjoy the beautiful scenery and spot for wildlife.

Amazing natural creation
Jasper National Park is a national park in Alberta, Canada. It is the largest national park within Alberta's Rocky Mountains spanning 11,000 km2. Its location is north of Banff National Park and west of Edmonton. The park contains the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, springs, lakes, waterfalls and mountains.

Adventure is always right there when you are in Sunwapta Falls! The river beside it is just surreal. We felt like we can stay there forever except it is getting really cold.
#mynovgetaway#couplestrip
Mount Robson is the largest mountain in the Rockies. Standing at the base after hiking 8 hours in was both humbling and comforting. This is one of my favourite places in the world and I’d highly recommend checking it out! #berglake #hiking #bc #alberta
Humans hold funerals for the demise of the glaciers. To the Jasper National Park in the Rocky Mountains, be sure to take a look at the angelic glacier shaped like a wing. There is a beautiful blue-green small lake under the glacier. There is still a lot of ice floes in July, and the sunset is drunk with the calm water. The Angel Glacier is one of the fastest disappearing glaciers in the Rocky Mountains. With global warming, one day you will never see the wings of the two-winged angel again.
Explore the Natural Wonders of Canada: A Guide to Jasper National Park
Jasper National Park is undoubtedly the perfect choice for a nature adventure! Here, you will find magnificent mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and abundant wildlife.
As soon as you step into the park, you'll be captivated by the clear waters of Maligne Lake. Rent a small boat and gently paddle across the surface, as if you were in a beautiful landscape painting. Don't forget to visit Spirit Island, a perfect spot for photography where every shot can be a highlight.
For hiking enthusiasts, the glacier hike at Columbia Icefield is a must. Put on professional gear and step onto the millennia-old glacier to experience the wonders of nature.

Jasper National Park, Alberta
#firstsnow
Jasper National Park is known for its expansive snowy landscapes and less crowded winter trails. The park offers snowshoeing around scenic spots like Maligne Lake, ice skating on Pyramid Lake, and snowmobiling tours through the rugged terrain. Marmot Basin ski resort provides a range of skiing opportunities from November through May. Winter also offers a chance to see the northern lights due to the dark, clear skies, making Jasper an appealing destination for both outdoor and celestial activities.
Banff/Jasper cost-effective + novice-friendly camping 🏕️
#campingfun
The best way to get close to nature is to camp; especially in banff and
Jasper has great scenery, mountains and rivers, which is completely a paradise for campers.Choice:
1 Frontcountry Camping
- Newbie-friendly
- There is a bathroom to take a shower, rechargeable, wifi
- The car can be driven to the campsite.
2 Backcountry Camping
- Feel the nature better
- Generally, it is not easy to get there directly by vehicle. You need to walk or take a boat to get there.
Secondly, some campsites will have ready-made Carbin) This kind of thing is generally difficult to book. Usually, it will be snapped up at the beginning of every year. After all, the number is limited, so you still need to bring your own equipment for general campsites. Common equipment is:
Tent, moisture-proof mat, sleeping bag, quilt, flashlight, heating lamp, insect-proof spray, toiletry bag, barbecue ingredients, fire tools, garbage bags.
Finally, it's too easy to see wild animals in the campsites of banff and jasper! I met deer, moose, and squirrels several times to take the apple I just peeled away.
If you ask me, compared with banff and jasper camping, I will definitely choose jasper, which has a better washing environment, entertainment facilities for children to play, and more wild animals.

Rocky Mountain Water | Jasper SkyTram.
I always thought I could take the Banff Sulphur Mountain cable car at any time, so I never went. Just like when I was in Chengdu for more than ten years, I always thought I could go to Jiuzhaigou, but in the end I never went to Jiuzhaigou, the paradise on earth.
Cherish the present. I finally understand now.
So even if I just pass by Jasper, I still plan to take the cable car, climb Whistler Mountain, and overlook Jasper Town.
Jasper SkyTram rises nearly a thousand meters vertically, and after going up, it is Whistler Mountain at 2,263 meters. The entire cable car journey takes about 7 minutes. You can enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of Jasper National Park, including mountains, lakes, valleys, dense forests and winding hundreds of red and green carriages. On a sunny day, I also saw the distant Columbia Icefield and the majestic Rocky Mountains.
After arriving at the top station, pass through the top viewing platform and walk along the trail to reach Whistler Peak. The altitude is higher, the road is made of earth and stone, and there is a little challenge, but I also saw a lot of old people and children walking up along the way. Maybe because of the high altitude, I saw big and small stones all the way, and there were some grass and wild flowers in the cracks of the stones. It was not too monotonous to rush down, but it was still recommended to look up more. The surrounding area is dotted with majestic peaks with snow, which is quite beautiful.
You can also go up Whistler Peak without taking the cable car. You can walk directly from the foot of the mountain. It is estimated that it will take several hours. You must wear climbing shoes and bring climbing sticks. If you slip and get injured, it will be troublesome. There is no signal on the phone.
There is a large area of snow that has not melted near the top of the peak. It is estimated that it will not melt before the winter. You can lie in the snow and take pictures.
📍Scenic spot address: Whistlers Rd, Jasper, AB T0E 1E0
🚗Scenic traffic: self-driving, the parking lot is quite large.
👍️Must-visit attractions: Whistler Peak, Summit Restaurant for a cup of coffee, 360-degree view of Rocky Mountain Snow Peak Valley.
🎟️Ticket related: Adults (16+) $67, teenagers (6-15) $38, free for children under 6, dogs need to buy tickets to go up, $10 per dog.
💗Other tips: It is recommended to book tickets in advance, and the time to go up and down the mountain should be selected. If you want to climb Whistler Peak and dine in the restaurant, there should be at least two hours in between.
Rocky Mountain Water | Maligne Canyon.
I visited a friend in Edmonton in late July. After the visit, I suddenly had an idea: why not go back to Calgary from Jasper via Highway 93 through Banff? It would be a great way to enjoy the mountains and water along the way!
So I set off.
I left at around 6pm and stayed in Hinton for the night. The next morning, I went to Maligne Canyon.
Entering Jasper National Park, I saw many dead pine forests, some of which were completely charred, as if they had been through a fire. However, the meadows under the dead forests were full of purple flowers, creating a strong visual contrast between the dead trees and the fresh flowers. I was reminded of the old saying "Heaven acts vigorously, Earth acts gently", and I couldn't help but marvel at the magical cycle of life and death in nature.
There are quite a lot of wild animals in Jasper. Whenever I saw the car in front of me suddenly slow down for no apparent reason, it was usually because they had seen wild animals on the side of the road. I saw a large herd of elk and a sika deer, which was quite lucky. The poems "The deer cries out, eating wild apples" and "When the trees are deep, you see deer, and at noon by the stream, you hear no bells" immediately came to mind, which was quite beautiful.
I didn't see any bears, and I didn't expect to see any, as they are quite dangerous.
As I drove, my phone lost signal and the navigation stopped working. I had no choice but to follow the road signs. Fortunately, the road signs were very clear, and I easily found the parking lot at Maligne Canyon. It was before 9am, and there were plenty of parking spaces.
I walked onto the first bridge and looked down. The ground was split open, revealing a huge chasm. The water roared inside the chasm, which was quite shocking. It felt like looking down from the natural stone bridge known as the "Number One Bridge in the World" in Zhangjiajie.
Because I had booked the Jasper Skytram for 10:30am, I only walked across two or three bridges before leaving. However, this place left a deep impression on me, and I will definitely come back and explore it properly next time when I have more time.
When I returned to Calgary, I heard that there was a mountain fire on the Jasper side and that Highway 93 was closed. Many tourists were evacuated to BC, and what should have been a few hours' drive turned into a journey of dozens of hours. I was both fortunate and amazed.
The next day, I heard even worse news: Jasper town was on fire, and hotels and gas stations were being engulfed by the flames. Fortunately, the firefighters did their best, and I later heard that most of Jasper town was saved.
To this day, the Malign Canyon Trail and Jasper Skytram are still closed, and I don't know when I will be able to come back.
I suddenly felt a little emotional. Life is often like this. We are always in a hurry to get to the next destination, and even when we encounter beautiful things, we cannot fully immerse ourselves in them and appreciate them. We always think that we will have another chance, but the world is unpredictable, and we may not have another chance. Even if we do, if we still have the same mindset, it will just be a repeat of the previous journey. Suddenly, I felt that the phrase "enjoy the moment" is not so decadent. From a different perspective, it even feels very positive and optimistic.
Tips:
⛱️Must-visit attractions: 6 bridges, all worth visiting if you have time; if you are short on time, visit bridges 1-4
🚄Transportation: There is a large parking lot, so it is a good idea to arrive early
💗Other: There is no mobile phone signal in this area, so remember to download offline maps on Google Maps in advance

To be honest, when Jasper rises from the ashes, make sure to visit it, because it is even more beautiful than Banff
I am a globe-trotter and travel photographer, please follow me!
(Published the 1757th original travel photography in 1015 cities across 57 countries/regions on 5 continents)
Thinking about the most heart-wrenching event in Canada these days that has broken the hearts of countless tourists, it is undoubtedly the severe wildfire in the town of Jasper. According to reports, the wildfire has destroyed at least 30% of the town's buildings.
Fortunately, I visited Jasper again two days before the wildfire arrived. Compared to the southern town of Banff, although Jasper is one of Canada's "Rocky Mountain twins," its fame and popularity seem to be somewhat less than Banff.
However, I believe that compared to Banff, Jasper's facilities are not lacking. Hotels and restaurants are all available, and the prices are not as high as Banff's. During peak season, it is not difficult to find a room or get a table without waiting.
Moreover, the scenery of Jasper National Park is not inferior to Banff. There are many iconic attractions that many tourists mistakenly think belong to Banff National Park, but in fact, they belong to Jasper National Park. For example, the well-known Columbia Icefield, Athabasca Falls, Maligne Lake, Spirit Island, etc. And the most beautiful part of the famous Icefields Parkway is also in Jasper.
In short, I believe that whether it is the town of Jasper, Jasper National Park, or the surrounding areas, they are all worth visiting. When Jasper rises from the ashes, make sure to visit it, because it is even more beautiful than Banff...
These Six North American National Parks Healed My Mental Exhaustion
🔹Have you heard of the '20-Minute Park Effect'?
🔹It's said that spending 20 minutes in a park each day can improve your well-being.
🔹Today, I want to introduce six North American national parks—
🔹Here, you can either hike deep into nature to escape the city or sit down and gaze at distant glaciers and snow lakes for a therapeutic experience.
Jasper National Park, Canada
⭐Real-Life Ice Age
The largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, home to the Columbia Icefield, the largest icefield outside the Arctic Circle.
The glacier has its own public transportation—a giant snow coach with tires as tall as a person. There are only 23 of these vehicles in the world.
You can ride the snow coach across the icefield, or if you're an adventurer, you can walk on the glacier and feel the adrenaline rush.
Yoho National Park, Canada
⭐The Blue Lake Chosen by Canadian Currency
Among the six parks, Yoho is the smallest but hides a treasure lake featured on the 20-dollar Canadian bill—Moraine Lake. Due to the refraction of rock flour, Moraine Lake appears in an elegant blue-green color. Yoho boasts diverse landscapes and the chance to see snow-capped peaks.
Banff National Park, Canada
⭐The Sapphire of Glacier Lakes
Banff is Canada's first national park, once contested for its rare hot springs.
It hides one of Canada's most important 'sapphires'—Lake Louise, also considered the diamond of the Rockies.
You can also take a 360-degree panoramic gondola up Sulphur Mountain at 2,285 meters, observing the Rockies from a god's-eye view.
Waterton Lakes National Park, Canada
⭐Filming Location of 'Brokeback Mountain'
Waterton Lakes is located on the US-Canada border, nestled in a narrow part of the Rockies, offering unique prairie scenery and serving as a filming location for 'Brokeback Mountain.'
Here, you can ride horses through forests and rivers, following western cowboys and enjoying the leisurely life of the ranch.
Yellowstone National Park, USA
⭐Earth's Color Palette on a Volcano
The world's first national park, a collection of stunning natural wonders.
The Grand Prismatic Spring radiates blue, green, yellow, and orange colors from its center, earning it the title of 'the most beautiful surface on Earth.'
Old Faithful Geyser erupts every 90 minutes, shooting water columns up to 40 meters high.
Beneath Yellowstone lies a supervolcano; walking through the park, the ground seems to steam, making it an adventure in itself.
Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
⭐Scenic Habitat
Unlike Yellowstone, Grand Teton offers endless prairies, glaciers nestled in canyons, and lakes reflecting the blue sky.
At Jackson Lake, you can boat and fish, enjoying a relaxing and leisurely time.
🔹Did you notice that these six parks are distributed from north to south along the Rockies?
🔹More importantly, if you're interested, you can even take a journey from north to south, traversing the six national parks. As the latitude changes, so do the species and landscapes, as if you're reading a walking geography magazine!
Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or looking for a quiet place to heal, these six North American national parks are great choices.
Feel free to reach out if you're interested.

Jasper National Park
The Athabasca Falls is located within Canada's Jasper National Park, and is a waterfall formed on the upstream of the Athabasca River, known as one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in the Rocky Mountains. The meltwater from the Columbia Icefield converges into the roaring Athabasca River, which flows from south to north towards the Arctic Ocean. Near Jasper, the wide river gradually narrows, winding through the rocky, dense forest of the canyon, and suddenly drops to a cliff of twenty to thirty meters, forming the thunderous Athabasca Falls.

📍The world-famous Banff Upper Hot Springs, mixed bathing, swimsuits required~ If you're not afraid of the cold, go for it!

Day 3️⃣ Banff (Two Jack Lake + Minnewanka Lake + Lake Louise) — Yoho National Park, Canada (Emerald Lake)

📍Another 5mins to Minnewanka Lake, the largest and deepest lake in Banff National Park, located east of Banff town.

Jasper National Park in Canada, a park that is less famous than Banff, but has more beautiful scenery
🌟Highlights:
The scenery along the way in Jasper Park is picturesque, and you can see deer walking on the road. It is necessary to stay for two days to fully appreciate it;
Leaving Banff town and heading north, it takes about an hour and fifty minutes to reach the entrance of Jasper Scenic Area
⏳Play Time:
The ticket is 42 Canadian dollars, and you can stay for 2 days;
📝Note tips:
More than 90% of Jasper Scenic Area has no signal, set up navigation in advance, although there is only one road to Jasper Town, it is still necessary for people like me who are dependent on navigation;
There are side roads on the road, all of which are hiking or sightseeing routes. Choose a few routes to walk, and you can see the lake view that you can't see on the side of the road, as well as the canyon and waterfall view,
🚉Transportation Strategy:
From Banff Town to Jasper Park, Highway 1 turns to Highway 93, from south to north, one road leads directly to Jasper, the whole journey takes more than three hours;
The Columbia Glacier is on the left front of the car two hours after entering the park. First, the sky starts to rain-rain and snow-snow, the road is icy, and the road is wet and slow
If you want to feel the glacier up close, you can take the scenic bus in the scenic area; the ticket is more than 200 Canadian dollars; you can also hike;
Because I have participated in the Alaska Glacier Hiking before, I did not choose this item this time, just stopped to look at the Columbia Glacier from a distance and continued to drive to Jasper Town
About the RV camp: I didn't see the RV camp all the way at six o'clock in the evening, and found a public camp set up by the park, which does not provide water and electricity, and only parks where there are public toilets;
Fortunately, this rest point is very close to the creek. First, find the septic tank of the toilet to drain the sewage in the car; then fill the water tank with creek water, and live without electricity and internet tonight;
At the foot of the snow mountain, I don't want to use the generator to turn on the air conditioner without electricity, for fear that there will be no enough gasoline tomorrow; cold, I was awakened twice in the middle of the night;
Later, I learned that there was a very, very good free RV camp near Jasper Town after driving for more than two hours that night. The camp has water and electricity and sewage supply, and there are public toilets and showers for use. I don't know if there is such a camp in Banff National Park. If not, learn from others as soon as possible;
There are many hiking points and viewing points on the way to Jasper Town. You can see the lake view by randomly finding a parking point and hiking a few hundred meters; canyons, waterfalls;
When you get to Jasper Town, a very small town, drive around and go to Maligne Lake immediately. It takes about 1:50 to get from Jasper to Maligne Lake. There is a place where the trees are all black. It should be the mark of a previous mountain fire (Maligne Lake will be introduced in the next issue)
