Guangxi Zhongshan Xingzhai Ancient Village

Xingzhai Village was established during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of over 600 years. The village faces the southwest and the main doors of the residential buildings in the village face the northeast. The village is mainly inhabited by the Lu, Deng, Pan, Tang, and Su families, as well as the Ou and Li families. These families originally lived separately at the foot of the surrounding mountains, but later merged into one village, hence the name Xingzhai. The Lu family came from Zhujie Lane in Nanjing, the Ou family moved from Jiangxi, and the Deng, Pan, Tang, and Su families moved from Qianjia Tong in Hunan. Most of the villagers are of the Yao ethnic group. The village still has 3 gate towers from the Qing Dynasty and 21 ancient houses from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.
