Faxing Temple

Jincheng and Changzhi can be visited together. From Jincheng, take the high-speed train to Changzhi East, then take a taxi directly to Faxing Temple and Chongqing Temple. It takes about an hour by car from Changzhi East to Faxing Temple. After visiting Chongqing Temple, you can be dropped off at a hotel in Changzhi city (Hilton Hampton). The cost is around 250-260 yuan. If you move quickly, you can also catch Wufenglou. The three can be combined for a tour. Faxing Temple was originally built during the Northern Wei Dynasty (401 AD) and was originally named Cilin Temple. In the first year of the Shangyuan era of the Tang Dynasty (674 AD), Emperor Gaozong Li Zhi graciously renamed it Guangde Temple. In the second year of the Song Dynasty's Zhiping era (1065 AD), it was renamed Faxing Temple. The relic pagoda, the Randon Lamp Pagoda, and the Yuanjue statues of Faxing Temple are collectively known as the "Three Wonders of Faxing." The twelve Yuanjue Bodhisattva statues are the most famous and are praised as the "Crown of Song Dynasty Bodhisattva Sculptures."
