Zhangjiagang | Tenzhuang Ancient Street: Jiyuan Daoist Temple

✅Jiyuan Daoist Temple is located on Tenzhuang Ancient Street in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou. It was originally built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, funded and established by local villagers who donated land and money. ✨In the 32nd year of Qianlong's reign, filial son Yang Dai financed repairs and established a charity school within the temple to promote education and culture. As one of the eleven temples in the history of Tenzhuang Ancient Town, Jiyuan Daoist Temple has experienced many vicissitudes and cycles of prosperity and decline. It is not only an important cultural relic but also holds profound influence among the local people. 💫In October 2014, the government allocated funds to restore this cultural heritage site to preserve historical memory and pass it on to future generations.
