Lijiang Niche Tour — Check in at Wen Feng Temple

The viewing platform in front of the Vajravarahi Cave offers a panoramic view of Lijiang and a distant view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Behind the mountain, at the Five Hundred Arhats, lies the key to Jizu Mountain's Huashou Gate. 🎟️Attraction Features: Wen Feng Temple is a Tibetan Buddhist Karma Kagyu Temple and the highest institution of Kagyu Lamaism in Northwest Yunnan. There is a sacred cave in the mountain south of the temple. Legend has it that the Karmapa of Tibet crossed the Jinsha River three times and searched all over western Yunnan before finally finding this magical and beautiful place in Lijiang. It is known as the first of the twenty-four sacred caves in the Buddhist legendary Jambudvipa, hence the name "The First Sacred Cave of Jambudvipa." There is also a large black stone beside it, which is said to be where Kasyapa Buddha once preached. Before leaving Jizu Mountain, he left the key to Huashou Gate inside this stone. Therefore, pilgrims from Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, and Yunnan who go to Jizu Mountain to worship Buddha must "borrow the key" here and return it when they come back. 💗Other tips: Wen Feng Temple offers vegetarian meals at noon, depending on availability. Shoes must be removed or shoe covers worn before entering the Tibetan Buddhist halls. Circumambulate the temple and stupas clockwise, respecting Tibetan Buddhist rituals. The tour takes about three hours. It is recommended to walk from Wen Feng Temple to Vajravarahi Cave, which is about 900 meters and climbs about 100 meters. Strolling in the mountains is very pleasant.
