Zhenbei Tower – A Guardian of the Great Wall 🏯⚔️ We explored Zhenbei Tower, a well-preserved section of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall. Standing on this ancient fortress, we could see endless stretches of the wall winding across the rugged hills. It was a surreal experience to walk on history while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding desert. The best time to visit is in the late afternoon when the golden light enhances the beauty of the landscape. 📍 Address: 10 km south of Yuyang District, Yulin, Shaanxi Hongjiannao Lake – China’s Largest Desert Freshwater Lake 🌊🦩 One of our favorite spots! Hongjiannao Lake is a stunning oasis in the desert, home to a large population of rare birds, including the beautiful relict gull. The contrast between the blue lake and the golden desert is breathtaking. We recommend visiting in spring or autumn when the weather is pleasant and the migratory birds are most active. 📍 Address: Shenmu County, Yulin, Shaanxi Red Stone Gorge (Hongshixia) – A Natural Wonderland 🏞️🌄 We took a trip to Red Stone Gorge, a hidden gem known for its dramatic red rock formations, winding canyons, and crystal-clear streams. The unique geological features made it feel like stepping into another world. Hiking through the gorge was both relaxing and awe-inspiring.
