Clouds Rise from Lingfeng Peak: The Three Wonders of Yandang Mountain

It is renowned for its towering cliffs, grotesque rocks, unusual stone chambers, and clear, pristine pools. Along with Lingyan Temple and Dalongqiu Waterfall, it forms the "Three Wonders of Yandang." The area is a breathtaking panorama of layered peaks and fantastically shaped rock formations. The night view of Lingfeng is particularly enchanting, with the shapes of the peaks shifting and changing as you move, creating an inexpressible magic. Two remarkable caves, Guanyin Cave and Big Dipper Cave, are must-sees for visitors. The key difference between Lingfeng and other scenic areas is its night view – the true essence of Yandang Mountain. The seemingly ordinary peaks of the daytime transform into mystical figures under the cloak of night, creating a surreal, otherworldly experience. You can easily combine the day and night views of Lingfeng into a circular route. The classic daytime route takes you through the "Fruit Box Three Views" and the East and West Yaotai Terraces, followed by Guanyin Cave and Big Dipper Cave in the central area. Finally, return via the night viewing path on the other side. Folding Palms Peak is one of Yandang Mountain's most iconic sights. Formed by Lingfeng Peak and Yitian Peak, it reaches a height of 270 meters, piercing the sky amidst the surrounding peaks. The peak takes on various forms in the hazy twilight. Viewed from the southwest corner of Lingfeng Hotel, it resembles a slender woman in a cheongsam, gazing wistfully into the distance, known as the "Lovesick Maiden." Move to the eaves of the hotel and look back, and the maiden transforms into a majestic eagle perched high, wings folded. From the east side of the flowerbed, the peaks appear as a pair of lovers embracing closely, hence the name "Couple's Peak" (or "Husband and Wife Peak"). 📍Address: Lingfeng Peak is the eastern gateway scenic area of Yandang Mountain. 🚗Transportation: Traveling to Yandang Mountain from other cities is convenient with high-speed trains to Ningbo, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing, Xuzhou, Fuzhou, and Xiamen. Take the train to Yandangshan Station, and you'll reach the Xianglingtou Tourist Distribution Center in just over ten minutes. Free shuttle buses are available from the station to the visitor center, taking about 20 minutes. Public buses are also an option. Most B&Bs in Yandang Mountain offer pick-up services; contact your host in advance to arrange a pick-up from the train station. Ride-hailing services are readily available and efficient.
