The breathtaking scenery of Nara Yoshino's Ichimoku Senbon is definitely a must-see in one's lifetime! This time, I'll share a travel guide for hiking in the mountains, so everyone can bookmark it first. ＜❓＞Stay at the foot of the mountain or make a round trip in a day, or is a two-day, one-night mountain trip better? Speaking from experience, if you arrive at Mount Yoshino around 10 o'clock, it's barely enough time to play for the day trip! If you split it into two days, the itinerary will be much easier. Collect the Goshuin stamps and you can play at Oku Senbon to Naka Senbon in one day, and play at Naka Senbon to Shimo Senbon in one day. ＜❓＞When and where is the best time to see the most spectacular cherry blossoms? Yoshino Mountain is definitely the best place to go when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Kyoto! Because whether you visit the lower or upper part of the mountain, you can see the cherry blossoms from above... 😂 Besides the staircase trail leading up to the Kinpusen-ji Shrine, there are actually no cherry blossom trees at the Otennouji Temple! Download the "Sakura no Kimochi" app for accurate information! 🌸 Round-trip recommended for the day From Yoshino Station, take a mountain bus to Naka Senbon, then take another mountain bus to Oku Senbon. Enjoy slowly from the mountaintop to Rakuhara Senbon, then take a cable car back to Yoshino Station to leave. ✴️ The must-visit scenic spots are roughly the same as the 2-day-1-night itinerary below, but the time is more urgent, and you have to give up going to Kawabon for food (it's better to bring a lunch box up the mountain)~ 🌸 Suggested itinerary for a two-day-one-night trip (Day 1 and Day 2 can be switched according to preference) Day 1️⃣ Yoshino Station > Take the mountain cable car from "Senbon-kuchi" Station to "Mt. Yoshino" Station > Walk down Senbon to Naka Senbon* ⭕ Recommended attractions: Jinfengshan Temple Zaodo, Copper Torii, Yoshimizu Shrine (the observatory here can have a glimpse of Senbon's great scenery, but please note that it closes at 5 o'clock), restaurants and souvenir shops along the way (introduced later) Day 2️⃣ Yoshino Station > Take the mountaineering bus until Nakasenbon > Take the mountaineering bus until Okusenmoto > Walk slowly from the top of the mountain to Nakasenmoto > Take the bus back to Yoshino Station in Nakasenbon ⭕ Recommended attractions: Jinfeng Shrine, Saigyoan, Hanayakura Observatory ❌ Personally do not recommend Goseongsan Observatory P.S. 2 days and 1 night, it would be best if you can book accommodation on the mountain, but the cherry blossom season may still be very difficult! You can also book to the foot of the mountain or Kashihara city. ================= ＜Transportation＞ From Kyoto or Osaka From Osaka or Kyoto to Yoshino Station by car, it usually takes about 2 hours by car (you can check Google for details). There are multiple modes of transportation here. Personally, I recommend taking the JR limited express reserved seat car, which is several hundred to more than 1,000 yen more expensive, but the time is half to an hour faster than ordinary cars.
