It's said that the best time for birdwatching is from November to January. I went in mid-December and highly recommend it. ⛱️Must-see attractions: The scenic area is all outdoor viewing spots, and most of them are free, except for an exhibition center, which costs CNY 50. We didn't go in, but the building is quite nice and worth a photo. The best spots are Shizishan Birdwatching Spot and Changhu Lake Birdwatching Spot. 🌄Travel tips: We set off from Nanchang, and it took about an hour and a half to drive there. Sometimes there are roadworks, which may cause a slight delay. When you arrive at the migratory bird town, you can see all the scenic spots on the second picture. Each spot has a free telescope for birdwatching. You can also bring your own telescope for a better experience, but it's not necessary. Before you reach the most beautiful water highway (currently without water), you'll see a visitor center. You can stop here and walk a few steps to the reeds on both sides of the water highway for some great photos. There's also a swing at Shizishan Birdwatching Spot, which is very cute and lively, and great for photos. You can also set up a tent here for camping. ✨✨✨The best spot is Changhu Lake Birdwatching Spot, opposite the Great Lake Birdwatching Spot. It doesn't look far, but you still need to drive, as it's quite a distance. There's a wild camping site here, which is perfect for hot pot or barbecue. In front of the campsite, there's a stretch of reeds and grassland by the lake, which gives a sense of "The reeds are green, the white dew is frost" and the green expanse of Poyang Lake Grassland. I also saw a muntjac running happily here, like a white deer spirit galloping across the wilderness. It made me feel great, and I loved it here. Finally, there's Wanghu Pavilion, a pavilion in the town where you can see the Xiushui River merging into the Ganjiang River and finally into Poyang Lake. You can climb up and take a look. 🏨Accommodation and food tips: If you're coming from Nanchang, you don't need to stay overnight. I set off at 9 am and returned at 3:30 pm. However, it's said that you can see the birds returning to their nests at sunset, which is very romantic. If you want to stay overnight, I recommend Wucheng Yuanzhou Hotel, next to the exhibition center. 💗Other tips: Parking is convenient, with parking lots at each spot. When it's busy, you may need to wait for a parking space or park on the roadside. On the way back to Nanchang, there's a section of road along the lake embankment, which is quite narrow and may be difficult for new drivers. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐In short, I think this is a great outdoor experience.
