You can visit for free! The retro and stylish Uesugi Count's residence 🌲

During a hot spring trip to Yonezawa in Yamagata, we went to the Uesugi Count's Residence as part of our Yonezawa sightseeing trip!!! The retro building built in the Taisho era was stylish and very nice😍 ~~~~~~~~~~ What is the Uesugi Count's Residence? ~~~~~~~~~~ It was built on the former site of the Ninomaru bailey of Yonezawa Castle as the residence of the 14th head of the Uesugi family, Count Shigenori. It was once destroyed, but was rebuilt and registered as a tangible cultural property in 2009!!! A cafe opened in 2019☕️ Currently, in addition to the cafe, you can eat traditional local cuisine of the Uesugi family and rice made with Yonezawa beef! *Reservations are possible, and if there are seats available, you can eat at the Uesugi Count's residence without a reservation~🤤 ~~~~~~~~ When I went, it happened to be reserved for private use, so I couldn't just pop in for lunch🥲 Next time, I'll make a reservation and go! ~~~~~~~~ ✔️Recommended points ⚫︎You can tour the garden for free 24 hours a day🌱 Not only is the garden beautiful, but the view of the Uesugi Count's residence from the garden was also wonderful🙌 ⚫︎You can also tour the inside of the building for free🚪 I couldn't see it because it was a private use day🥲 But normally, you can just tour the inside of the building! ⚫︎You can eat the Uesugi family's local cuisine or Yonezawa beef dishes! When you travel to Yonezawa, you can also enjoy food!!! 〜〜〜〜〜〜〜 It's near Uesugi Shrine⛩️ and the Uesugi Museum, so I recommend visiting them together🫶 ---- 📍 Access 🚄Yamagata Shinkansen Tokyo to Yonezawa Station, about 2 hours 10 minutes 🚗10 minutes from Yonezawa Station by rental car or taxi 💰 Fee Only viewing the garden and the building is free *Additional fees apply if you use the cafe or eat at the restaurant. 🕰️ Business hours The garden is open 24 hours a day. You can freely view the building from 10:00 to 17:00, and it's free if you just want to view it. *It seems that it's difficult to view the building when it's open for private use! ---- #Domestic travel #Uesugi Count's Residence #Yonezawa Tourism #Yamagata Tourism #Retro Architecture
