I bought a beautiful, quality, batik bag from a fixed price shop at less than US$20. A pair of batik pants from the street vendors should cost about US$10. You will be surprised to find Batik shirt from a store (lower quality of cotton) at less than US$5. A great place for souvenirs and local food items like Bakpia. Get the experience of riding the becak (trishaw) or dongkar (horse carriage). A becak ride from the street to Phoenix Hotel costs about $10. Explore and take your time.
