Taking the elderly and children out to see the world, and incidentally checking out the lakeside trail and the actual situation of the Yunnan-Burma Railway, to prepare for this year's hiking. The starting point of the lakeside trail is Shijiaozui, a peninsula paved with gravel. To the right of the peninsula are steep cliffs with mid-mountain villas, and in front is the misty lake surface, where flocks of bare-headed ducks float on the water, and a few red-billed gulls circle overhead. Distant mountains, mist, the calm lake surface, and flying birds sketch a tranquil and harmonious landscape painting. At the front end of the peninsula, a quaint stone-paved path extends into the lake through the gravel beach, dividing it in two, yet adding a bit more interest. People on the stone beach are chasing fun, feeding gulls and taking photos, flying drones, or simply sitting in groups under the shade of trees, staring at the lake in a daze. I simply squatted by the water, picked up stones on the spot, and built a small stone tower, listening to the gentle lapping of the waves, and revisiting the carefree mindset of childhood.
