Akadake in summer

Akadake is the highest peak in the Yatsugatake mountain range. Yatsugatake is very popular for many reasons, including its natural beauty and mountain shape, but Akadake is the tallest of them all, and is the one that many people climb in the summer. From the trailhead to the base of the mountain, you walk through the forest, and then you start climbing all the way up.
