The service at this guesthouse is truly exceptional

I used to always be torn between star-rated hotels and guesthouses when traveling. The exclusive views and stylish designs of guesthouses are very appealing, but the service at star-rated hotels is excellent. This time, my experience staying at Tongxiang in Yangshuo, Guilin, was a pleasant surprise. The service was attentive and thorough, and the process was well-organized, making it hard to believe it’s a guesthouse with only 8 rooms. We arrived at the guesthouse after 10 PM, and two housekeepers still brought us welcome drinks and late-night snacks. The late-night snack sets prepared daily were delicious and healthy, so eating after 10 PM didn’t feel too guilty. The breakfast offered a variety of Chinese and Western options, and the efficiency was high as everything was made to order. When we mistakenly booked a twin room, they immediately added a mattress to turn it into a nearly three-meter-wide king bed. If you’re visiting Yangshuo, Guilin, you should give this place a try.
