Tongxiang Inn in Yangshuo / The most comfortable hotel I stayed in 2023

Reflecting on the multiple trips I took in 2023, I stayed in various hotels including the Yangshuo Sugar House, Tengchong Stone Story, Amanpulo, and other luxurious hotels. However, looking back, the most comfortable experience was at this homestay in Yangshuo: Tongxiang. The homestay is located by the Yulong River, offering a distant view of the endpoint of bamboo rafting, with a great scenic vista. I absolutely adore its winding entrance (p2, 3). Generally speaking, compared to hotels, homestays are more worrisome in terms of quality control, easily falling into the trap of looking beautiful but failing to withstand scrutiny in the details—a 'photo cheat.' This place broke my prejudice, with spacious rooms that are well-equipped, practical, and of good quality without being ostentatious. The swimming pool is heated, and the water is very warm. The joy of being able to swim in an outdoor pool during the May Day holiday is something many luxury hotels cannot offer. The breakfast is à la carte, and both the taste and presentation are impressive. The dishes served for main meals are also praiseworthy. Nightly turndown service + exquisite and rich dessert snacks. The service is considerate and makes you feel at home. For example, when swimming, the staff would proactively offer free hot tea drinks, with a variety of choices. In short, this homestay will likely become my first choice when I visit Yangshuo again.
