Northern Wei stone Buddha, Tang and Song Dynasty cliff carvings - Xinghua Zen Temple📍|||Xinghua Zen Temple was built during the Hongwu period because of the large stone Buddha. It has a long history and has become a major Buddhist monastery in northern Jiangsu. The temple was built against the mountain, and the terrain gradually rises. It now consists of six courtyards. Among them, the cliff carvings from the Tang and Song dynasties were discovered when the Main Hall was being built. The stone niches and statues are relatively small, while the large stone Buddha from the Northern Wei Dynasty is extremely spectacular and huge, with only the head and chest carved. The cliff carvings from the Tang and Song dynasties and the large stone Buddha from the Northern Wei Dynasty are all inside the main hall. The main hall is built against the mountain where the carvings are located, and some of the hall's pillars stand directly on the cliff. The ticket price for Xinghua Zen Temple is five yuan, which is much cheaper than that of Guishan Han Tomb and Shizishan Chu King's Mausoleum. The environment in the temple is quiet and quiet, with few tourists. Climbing up, you can see the nearby Huaihai Campaign Memorial Tower. Enter from the southeast gate and look upwards, and exit from the west gate to continue climbing Yunlong Mountain.
