The National Taichung Opera House has an avant-garde shape, with the concept of "bel canto culvert", using unique designs such as curved walls, holes and tubes. The entire building has no beams or columns to support it, and there is no 90-degree wall, which subverts the concept of general buildings. Because each curved wall has to be custom-made and cannot be mass-produced, it is a huge project that requires precise calculations and is extremely difficult to build.
