9 days Southern Xinjiang

Experienced 4 seasons in one day-runs through various glaciers, grasslands and canyon. Duku Highway G217国道 (Open June- Sept) - 561km connecting Northern and Southern XinJiang -10 years to build this road (1983) - 168 soldiers who built the road died on duty. Starts from the most alpine section, the main summit of Borohoro Range of Tianshan, ascending with many curves to Haxilegen Pass. This pass has altitude of 3544m Nalati Grassland (那拉提草原）also known as 'sky grassland空中花园’, due to its high altitude (average 2200 meters)- seen more sheeps 🐑 than human here. Stunning view. Tianshan Mysterious Canyon (天山神秘大峡谷)-one of the 10 most beautiful canyons in the world. Up to 38-40oC but once u are in the canyons it cools down. Wensu Grand Canyon (温宿大峡谷)- through wind erosion and water erosion, various geographical wonders were formed, including Danxia, Yadan, Ciyadan, rock salt karst and unique salt. My favourite because less commercialised and u can drive across the canyon The Kashgar Old Town - As a major trading town on the ancient Silk Road,it still remains its Islamic and Ugyhur traditions. They are the indigenous population in XinJiang- speaks their language on top ofnational language, had their own business and home. Tajikistan town (塔县 G314国道） :Baisha Lake (白沙湖,3000m）White sand lake- connecting border of Pakistan and crossing Plamir plateu :Karakul Lake (喀拉库勒湖 translate as black lake, 3914m) located at the foot of Mount Maztagata. We drove to the other side of the lake and disturbed few camels while they drinking water :Muztagata Ata Glacier(慕士塔格峰) Glacier No3-4600m. There is a small van take u up until 4000m and the rest of the path u can choose to climb up or take a horse. Beware of mountain altitude sickness.
