Hiking in Changpinggou: Exploring its history and primitive ecology

#SeptemberGoodPlaces2025 Changping Valley is one of the three valleys in the Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area, stretching 29 kilometers. It is a significant relic of the Tang-Tibetan Ancient Road. The area preserves the ruins of the ancient battlefield of Kushutan and the geological wonder of Red Stone Formation, testifying to the famous battle between the Abalanyi and the Merdo clans. Entering Changping Valley is like entering a primeval forest, where towering ancient cypresses, lush green pines, and dense, native vegetation shroud the sky. The gurgling stream meanders, creating a picturesque scene of "no one is seen in the deep forest" and "clear springs flowing over rocks." Although my hike wasn't sunny, cloudy days have their own charms.
