The mountains and rivers are all in the Yang, hence the name Xianyang (II): Xianyang Ancient Ferry Site Museum

Xianyang Ancient Ferry has a history of more than 3,000 years, dating back to the late Shang Dynasty. During the Zhou, Qin, Han, Tang and Five Dynasties, Xianyang served as the capital, and the Xianyang Ancient Ferry gradually became a busy transportation channel. For thousands of years, it has been a transportation hub connecting Guanzhong to the Western Regions in the west and to Bashu in the south. It is the first ferry on the ancient Silk Road west of Chang'an and one of the famous "Eight Scenic Spots of Guanzhong". In 2002, local authorities discovered a section of an old river embankment while renovating Xianyang Lake. A number of cultural relics, including cypress piles, iron pillars, and iron anchors, were unearthed during rescue excavations, confirming that this was the site of the ancient Xianyang ferry on the Wei River during the Qin Dynasty. Subsequently, the Xianyang Ancient Ferry Site Museum was built on the original site. The museum has an "Ancient Ferry Exhibition", which consists of three sections: Memories of the Ancient Ferry, Ancient Ferry Site, and Impressions of the Ancient Ferry. It comprehensively introduces the thousands of years of history, commercial activities, and folk customs of the Xianyang Ancient Ferry. More than 120 related cultural relics and detailed pictures and texts, including a Han Dynasty goblet, a Tang Dynasty engraved gold pot, and a tri-color figurine of a foreign man leading a horse, showcase the historical changes of the Xianyang ancient ferry over thousands of years. The Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei wrote the poem "Sending Yuan Er to Anxi" for his friend here: "The morning rain in Weicheng moistened the dust, the green willows in the guest house are new. I urge you to have another cup of wine, for there will be no friends west of Yangguan." There is also the Weicheng song "Yangguan Sandie" which has been sung for thousands of years. Singing it three times and sighing three times, it leaves a special feeling in your heart... Xianyang Ancient Ferry Site
