Gaoqian Ancient Village

Gaoqian Ancient Village is located in Baita Town, Xianju County, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, adjacent to the national key scenic spot Shenxianju. It is an ancient village with a profound historical and cultural heritage. Gaoqian Ancient Village was built in the Yuan Dynasty (some say the Song Dynasty), and most of the existing buildings retain the style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is one of the representative ancient villages in central Zhejiang. The buildings in the village are mainly in the form of courtyard dwellings, and the "Three Transparent Nine Gates Hall" is a typical representative. These buildings with white walls, black tiles, horse head walls, and exquisite carvings constitute the overall style characteristics of traditional architecture. The ancient residential buildings are large in scale, exquisite in layout, and well-preserved. They have been preserved for hundreds of years and are known as the living "Jiangnan Carving Museum" in the industry.
