Yunnan's summer retreat ancient city

Xiangyun Ancient City was founded during the Han and Tang dynasties. The name of Yunnan Province originates from the ancient Yunnan County of Xiangyun, hence Xiangyun is also known as the source of Yunnan. Tour Route Visit the ancient city in a counterclockwise direction, starting from the West Street at the very beginning to the North Street, the well-connected Xiangyun Ancient City. Attraction Recommendations Bell Tower The Bell Tower was built in 1386. It is four stories high, with the lower two stories being square and the upper two hexagonal. Overlooking the ancient city, it resembles a square seal city, with the Wulong Mountain to the west echoing in the distance, historically known as Wulong holding the seal. Ancient Street District Once a post on the ancient Tea Horse Road, the four main streets of northeast, southeast, northwest, and southwest retain the basic layout of ancient times, with bluestone roads and many old residences. Dongyue Palace Dongyue Palace, also known as Dongyue Temple, was built in the first year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. It is a typical Ming and Qing architectural style. The main hall has five bays with a single-eave hip-and-gable roof and a through-type wooden structure. Flanked by wing rooms, it features a front hall, main hall, and rear courtyard. Admission is free. Transportation: Dali to Xiangyun by high-speed train takes 20 minutes and costs 20 yuan.
