Full-screen appreciation of the rich colors of Tibetan Buddhist temples in Gannan||This time we visited four Tibetan Buddhist temples: Labrang Monastery, Langmu Monastery (Gansu Temple), Niangma Monastery (Nyingma Monastery), and Gemo Monastery. In order of preference: Labrang Monastery >> Gemo Monastery > Niangma Monastery > Langmu Monastery - As a person without religious beliefs, the significance of these temples lies in their brilliant, magnificent, grand, and intricate beauty. On the road from Xiahe to Labrang Monastery, you can encounter many devout Tibetans prostrating step by step, as well as monks chanting sutras and turning prayer wheels. The beauty of Labrang Monastery is in its vast and expansive temple complex at the foot of the mountain, and the walls filled with white horse grass, making them fuzzy and vividly striking; Gemo Monastery features a towering main hall and the continuous sound of bells; Niangma Monastery has huge prayer wheels; Langmu Monastery is backed by the mountain with a sky burial platform. There are many temples throughout the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and on our fast journey, we often saw dazzling golden roofs and large temple complexes. During this process, we also learned a lot about Tibetan Buddhist culture, and all the temples were filled with a pleasant incense scent. We accidentally entered a side hall that only monks are allowed to enter, where two young novice monks, who looked to be in their teens, were nodding their heads and reciting scriptures, while a lama nearby was burning incense in an incense burner. When we asked, we found out that barley flour was mixed in the incense being burned.
