Wuyuan Slow Travel Journal｜Discovering Three Days of Leisure Amidst the Charm of Hui-Style Culture

- This trip to Wuyuan brought me so many surprises! Although I missed the springtime sea of rapeseed flowers, Wuyuan in early autumn has its own unique charm—fewer crowds, stunning scenery, and an amazing experience overall. - 🗺️ Three-Day Relaxing Itinerary The three-day plan was quite laid-back, as I don’t like rushing around: Day 1: Arrived in Wuyuan in the afternoon → Checked into Pusu·Boyun Yinlu → Strolled around the nearby Xiangao Ancient City in the evening, soaking in the historical atmosphere → Enjoyed the night view at Wunvzhou, where the lights were beautiful. - Day 2: The highlight was Huangling! The autumn drying tradition and the charm of the ancient village remain intact. The Leixin Bridge and the "Quirky House" were quite interesting. Had the "Autumn Drying Feast" at Tianjie Restaurant—the braised pork with preserved vegetables was delicious. - Day 3: Woke up naturally → Visited Likeng, a picturesque village with small bridges and flowing water. Although slightly commercialized, it was great for photography in the early morning when it was less crowded → Returned home in the afternoon, feeling completely satisfied. - 🏡 Hidden Gem Accommodation Pusu·Boyun Yinlu is not located in the bustling core of the scenic area, but it’s very convenient—just a 10-minute drive from both Wunvzhou and Xiangao Ancient City. After a tiring day of sightseeing, it’s quick to return and rest. - The rooms are elegantly decorated, and in the afternoon, sunlight streams in, making it perfect for lounging with a book. I also loved the tea room in the common area—on nights when I didn’t feel like going out, I stayed there brewing tea and watching movies. - ✨ Some Travel Tips Transportation: Wuyuan’s attractions are quite spread out, so self-driving or hiring a car is more convenient. Tickets: If you plan to visit multiple attractions, buying a combo ticket is more cost-effective. Food: Besides the dishes mentioned above, try the stuffed red carp, steamed pork, and tofu stew—they’re all worth it. Seasons: If you want to see specific sights, choose the right season. The terraced flower fields in Jiangling during spring (March-April) and the autumn drying tradition in Huangling during fall (September-November) are the most famous. - Wuyuan’s beauty needs to be savored slowly. It was a wonderful way to relax both body and mind. I’m already looking forward to visiting again in a different season! -
