Li Garden in Wuxi

Li Garden, located in Qingqi Village, Binhu District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, is one of the main attractions of the national key scenic spot 'Taihu Lake Scenic Area'. The total area of Li Garden is about 82,000 square meters, of which the water area is about 35,000 square meters. It was founded in 1927. The name of Li Garden comes from Li Lake, which was named after Fan Li, a minister of the State of Yue during the Spring and Autumn period, and Xi Shi, who boated here. Li Garden is famous for its unique water landscape garden style in the Jiangnan region and is known as Wuxi's 'Peach Blossom Land'. Li Garden was originally two adjacent private villa gardens, namely Li Garden built from 1927 to 1937 and the Fisherman's Villa built from 1930 to 1937. In 1952, the two gardens were connected through the extension of the 'Hundred Steps Corridor', collectively known as Li Garden. Li Garden is famous for its clear mountains and waters, and deep courtyard landscapes, and is also known for the romantic love story of Fan Li and Xi Shi. The garden is dotted with numerous attractions and landscapes such as Baihua Mountain House, Four Seasons Pavilion, Nandi Spring Dawn, Fisherman's Villa Brick Carvings, Thousand Steps Corridor, Qinghong Smoke Green Waterside Pavilion, Layered Waves and Shadows, Cloud-shaped Rockery, Xi Shi Villa, and more. In 2005, Li Garden was rated as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. The opening hours of Li Garden are from 7:00 to 17:30, with ticket prices of 45 yuan in peak season and 30 yuan in off-season. Inside the garden, there are also buildings such as the Spring and Autumn Pavilion, Thousand Steps Corridor, and Li Garden Entrance Hall, which have been rated as provincial-level immovable cultural relics. These features and history make Li Garden a tourist destination with both natural beauty and rich culture.
