Cherry blossom season in Wuhan is a must-see, but it can be hard to avoid the crowds. This hotel is perfect for lazy travelers who want to see the flowers! The hotel is close to East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden and Wuhan University, just a 10-minute taxi ride away, so you don't have to get up early to beat the crowds (a lazy traveler's dream). The hotel staff are super helpful. When they heard I was going to see the cherry blossoms, they gave me a "traffic guide": head to East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden before 7 am, when there are fewer people and the light is better, so your photos will have a natural soft-focus filter; go to Wuhan University after 4 pm, when the cherry blossom avenue is as beautiful as a scene from a Japanese drama (but remember to book in advance, or you won't even be able to get in). The best part is that there's a snack street right downstairs, with hot dry noodles, bean curd, and hot and sour soup noodles... I was stuffed with carbs, and when I came back in the evening, I could even take some crayfish to go (Wuhan's night market culture is a must-see). Take a taxi to "East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden South Gate" to avoid the crowds and traffic. 2️⃣ Photo tips: Cherry blossom season is crowded, so bring a small ladder or selfie stick to avoid the crowds and get a "private flower sea" feel. 3️⃣ Food tips: The hot dry noodles on the snack street downstairs are a must-try, only CNY 5 a bowl, and so delicious you'll be in heaven. 4️⃣ Accommodation tips: Orange Hotel offers free laundry service, so you can drop your clothes off at the front desk after seeing the cherry blossoms and pick them up fresh and clean the next day.
