Temporary travel arrangements had to be made as there were no direct high-speed train tickets to Xiamen. I had to transfer through Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, or Wenzhou. Considering I had never been to Wenzhou before and it was closer to Xiamen, I decided to go there first. I arrived at the bus stop at 5 o'clock, and the bus arrived on time. The morning traffic was smooth, and I reached the high-speed train station in half an hour. I bought a 45-yuan boxed meal on the train, but soon felt uncomfortable in my stomach. After an eight-hour journey, I finally arrived at Wenzhou South Station. Wenzhou was first established in the second year of Emperor Gaozong's Shangyuan era (675 AD) during the Tang Dynasty. Known for its fragrant lotus and pomelo, boxwood carvings, mild winters, and cool summers, it was named for its temperate climate. In modern times, Wenzhou seems to have been labeled as a city of commerce, often overshadowing its historical and cultural heritage. With a history of over two thousand years, Wenzhou has nurtured the brilliant Ou Yue culture. It has produced elites in various fields, including nearly a hundred mathematics masters like Su Buqing and Gu Chaohao, as well as renowned writers like Zheng Zhenduo and Ye Yonglie. As the morning light first shone, the dawn was like dye. After breakfast at the hotel, I took a bus to the Ou River. The source of the Ou River is short and rapid, with winding river paths, steep cliffs, and high waves with dangerous shoals. After merging with the Nanxi River, the riverbed becomes undulating, with alternating fast and slow currents. "The turbulent flow straightens out, and the solitary islet charms the central river." Jiangxin Islet is one of China's four famous islets, with countless literati and poets leaving their marks here over the centuries. The dense branches cover the sky, sparse twigs interweave, and the green grass is like a carpet, making it seem like dusk even during the day. Twin towers soar into the sky, surrounded by clouds and water, with water and rocks splashing, creating waves like a thousand heaps of snow. The afterglow of the sunset, the evening clouds like brocade, the gathering of clouds, and the coming and going of boats. Exiting the west gate, crossing the Dong'ou Bridge back to the south bank, and taking a bus back to the hotel. A nearby restaurant was clean and tidy. I ordered a yellow croaker rice, which was very delicious, and the ribs in the accompanying soup had a unique flavor. The next day, I took the S1 rail to Wenzhou South Station to go to Xiamen.
