PRL Museum in Warsaw

PRL is a time of many paradoxes. On the one hand, the reconstruction of the country from war damage was accompanied by huge public enthusiasm, on the other hand, it was impossible to escape the intensified party propaganda of success, and the scale of persecution by the Security Services was unprecedented in history. The average inhabitant of Poland at that time suffered the effects of orders and restrictions resulting from the inefficiency of nationalized industry every day, but these were also times of increased creativity and resourcefulness. The aim of the exhibition is to show the everyday life of the People's Republic of Poland. The interiors and objects presented at the exhibition tell a story about how the policy of "people's power" influenced the daily lives of the citizens affected by its actions. They are valuable witnesses to history. They are a documentation of the changing realities and social needs in times when everything had to be "arranged" or organized. #poland #museum
