Patuxay, a landmark in Vientiane that everyone must visit.

During the long holiday, we had the opportunity to take the electric train across the country to visit Vientiane, the capital of Laos. It's a city that makes us happy every time we visit. Today, we are taking everyone to Patuxay, also known as the Victory Gate, which is a symbol of Vientiane. It's a must-visit spot for taking photos when you come here. Originally, this place was known as 'Anousavary' (ອານຸສາວະລີ), which means 'memory.' It was built in 1957 and completed in 1968 to commemorate the Lao people and soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War II and the war for independence from France. Later, in 1975, the communist revolutionary movement 'Pathet Lao' seized power, and the king abdicated, leading to a change in government to a socialist communist regime. The name was then changed from Anousavary to 'Patuxay' (ປະຕູໄຊ) to honor the victory of the revolutionary group, and it has been called that ever since. This place is definitely a must-visit when you come to Vientiane.
