But now, in addition to the expressway to Vang Vieng, Laos also has a high-speed, double-track train from Vientiane to Vang Vieng and then to Luang Prabang easily. This time, I will try taking a train to travel for 3 days and 2 nights and travel as well. Actually, I have to travel from Vientiane to Vang Vieng, but because I did not have any information beforehand, I thought I could buy a ticket at the event. But it turned out that I had to book it 1 day in advance, so I had to change my plan to take a bus on the expressway to Vang Vieng. And the next day, we took a seat from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang by booking a ticket 1 day in advance. The shop that accepts bookings in Vang Vieng booked for us and told us a little about the price. Vang Vieng station is a little far from Vang Vieng city. We hired a car to take us there. Vang Vieng station is very beautiful and magnificent. The interior is decorated with a high ceiling hall with chairs, toilets, shops and coffee shops. Before the train arrives, there will be an announcement from the station to prepare to check tickets before boarding the train. The train from the outside is quite new. There will be a car number displayed on an LED light for us to follow to the boarding point of the train car. Inside the train, there will be seats on 2 sides of the center aisle, but the seats are not the same size. One side has 3 rows and the other side has 2 rows. On top, there is a fairly large and wide luggage storage area, including space for large bags at the front and back of the car. The seats are comfortable and can be reclined a little. The air conditioning is very cool. The speed of the train is much faster than Thai trains because it is an electric train. Riding the Lao train will give you a very natural atmosphere. Along the way, there will be mountains and trees, including alternating with tunnels that go through many mountains. The time from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang is only about 45-50 minutes. After arriving in Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang station is similar but a little bigger, there are more shops and more people. The inside of the station is clean. After that, we booked tickets at the station to return from Luang Prabang to Vientiane the next day. Luang Prabang train station is located further from the city than Vang Vieng. On the return day, we waited for the train before the scheduled time with the tickets we booked yesterday. When the train arrived, we got on our own carriage. As usual, there were two rows of seats, one on the third row and one on the second row, but this time, the seats were switched left and right. The seats were different colors from the last time. There were quite a few people returning from Luang Prabang to Vientiane. We returned at 1:30 PM. As usual, we experienced the atmosphere along the way, mountains, trees, and houses that still retain their natural surroundings, as well as dozens of tunnels. The train was quite steady and did not shake, so we slept very comfortably. There was a bathroom in the carriage, and there were also staff pushing carts to sell souvenirs and food. It takes about 2 hours from Luang Prabang to Vientiane. Advice: For those who want to try taking the high-speed train in Laos, you must find a place to book tickets first. You cannot buy tickets at the event and get on. You must allow plenty of time. It is similar to checking in for a plane flight.
