The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum is one of the first national first-class museums and provincial comprehensive local museums. It was officially established in 1959. The original museum was initially designed as an agricultural exhibition hall and was a mountain-shaped bungalow building. In 1962, it was moved to its current location and changed to a museum and opened to the public. The new museum was completed in 2005, with a construction area of 17,288 square meters, one underground floor, two above-ground floors, and a main body height of 18.5 meters. The museum's scientific research work focuses on the collection of cultural relics. On May 18, 2022, the second phase of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum was completed and put into use.
