Leeds: A Budget-Friendly Day Trip to Harewood House

Harewood House, established in the 18th century thanks to the profits from the transatlantic slave trade and related industries, boasts an art collection comparable to the finest in Britain. Visitors can enjoy contemporary art exhibitions, experience farm life, and explore over 100 acres of exquisite gardens. 🕙 Opening Hours: Daily from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the last entry at 3:15 PM. 🚌 Transportation: From Leeds city center's Victoria K bus station, take the 36 bus to Harewood Arms stop, a journey of about 30 minutes. Upon arrival, walk left for about 5 minutes to see the prominent estate sign. 🟤 Bus Tips: You can pay by card when boarding. Show your student ID and ask the driver for a round-trip ticket, which costs only £2.5. Remember to ask for a voucher, which allows you to purchase entry tickets at half price (£9). Keep your ticket safe, as you'll need to scan the QR code on it for the return trip. 🎫 Tickets: On-site ticket purchases can be made by card. Adults: £18 (students half price), Children: £10 (children under 4 free). You can also book an English afternoon tea at Harewood online, which must be purchased with the ticket for £40 per person. 🚙 Shuttle Service: A free shuttle service is available at the entrance. If not visible, follow the signs to call the shuttle driver. The shuttle provides free transport between attractions during the visit. 🗺️ Main Attractions: 1⃣️ Inside the House: Divided into two exhibition areas - the State Rooms and the Servants' Quarters. 2⃣️ Grand Terrace: The terrace has two levels, with the upper level housing a café and the lower level featuring a majestic fountain and symmetrical flower beds. 3⃣️ Lakeside Gardens: After touring the house and terrace, follow the signs through a woodland path along the lake, crossing a wooden bridge to visit the Himalayan Garden and Walled Garden. You may also spot swans and ducks in the lake. The tour takes about 3 hours and is a perfect spot for photography. #Leeds #DowntonAbbey #LeedsTravel

Study Abroad Diary 🇬🇧 One-day Tour of Downton Abbey ||| Heywood Manor is really too cozy ☺️ The scenery is as beautiful as a painting. Before you go, make sure to check the weather. Clear sky is the most suitable. You can also lie in the huge lawn. Ticket price is 16 pounds 💷, tickets available for purchase on site . No student discount, but there is reportedly a bus discount. Directly taking Uber🚕 can bring people to the parking lot inside the estate. City center to the estate is about 13 pounds 💷. This is really worth seeing. It's my favorite among all the attractions I've been to in the UK so far.
