Into the woods

The walk between Tarn Hows and the lake of Coniston Water can take two routes. The shorter and more direct of those takes the road downhill but those who do take that option are missing out on one of the most scenic walks in the entire Lake District. As you follow the path down for the main car pack you are greeted by towering pines as the sunlight flickers through them and the sound of the stream trickling down beside you. Further on your descent you begin to cross that stream through a series of wooden bridges before the view of the expansive lake comes into site. #lakedistrict #woods #trails
