It has a long history, having been built by Makino Kobaku as early as 1505. It was repeatedly attacked by the Imagawa, Tokugawa, and Takeda clans. In 1590, Ikeda Terumasa was enfeoffed here, and after his vigorous development, he built a castle with a territory of 152,000 koku. However, after the Battle of Sekigahara, Ikeda Terumasa was transferred to Himeji Castle in Harima. Although small daimyo were subsequently enfeoffed, there was no further large-scale expansion. 🏰The most intuitive thing about Yoshida Castle is its architectural style. The castle walls are traditional Japanese castle style, with blue tiles and white walls, which look particularly imposing in the sunlight.
