February: 6-day trip to Yonago!

I took Greater Bay Area Airlines and arrived at Yonago Airport in the afternoon. After getting the rental car, I went to Gegege no Kitaro Street for some shopping. However, it might be winter, as soon as the sun sets at around 5 o'clock, the shops start to close. Basically, all shops are closed after 6 o'clock. We stayed at Kaike Onsen Hotel on the first night. Dinner was a buffet, which was delicious. On the second day, I went to the Dashan Ski Resort. As a novice, I had been watching YouTube videos teaching how to snowboard. I also had experience in skateboarding, so I got the hang of it the first time. Although I fell several times, the snow at the ski resort is not hard and it doesn’t hurt much if I fall. On the second night, we stayed at the Hotel. This meal was a kaiseki meal, using local ingredients and also half a snow crab. Overall, it was 10 points for high quality 🩷 On the third day, we went to the 20th Century Pear Museum and the Hakuto Shrine, and finally to the Tottori Sand Dunes. Unfortunately, it rained that day, or more accurately, it was hail. Plus, the wind blew at the seaside, and the hailstones hit my face and it was very painful.. We stayed for a while and then left. On the third night, we stayed in a business hotel in downtown Tottori. The room was quite small. In the evening, I went to the yakiniku restaurant in Tottori City. The Tottori Wagyu beef was of very high quality. On the fourth day, we finally saw the sun and immediately headed to the Tottori Sand Dunes. The weather was sunny and bright this time, and it was beautiful to take pictures. Then we will go to the White Walled Storehouses in Kurayoshi City, which is also known as the Little Kyoto of Tottori. There are many specialty coffee shops and tea shops in the small alleys, which are full of literary and artistic feeling. I originally wanted to go to Daisen Milk, but since the road there was rough in winter, I went to Daisen Milk House (Kotoura Town, Tohaku County) on the seaside instead and bought some souvenirs. Then continue to Matsue City to see the National Treasure Matsue Castle. One of the twelve existing castle towers in Matsue Castle. Due to the implementation of the castle abolition order in the Meiji era, all buildings except the castle tower in Matsue Castle were demolished. Fortunately, the landlord Katsube Motoemon of Izumo County and former samurai Takagi Gonpachi paid 180 yen to the government to buy back the castle tower, so that the castle tower could be preserved. Finally, we went to the Shimane Prefectural Museum of Art to watch the sunset over Lake Akujima, and then checked into the Tamatsukuri Onsen Ryokan to end this long day. On the fifth day, we headed to Izumo, passed by the former Taisha Station, and took photos with the old locomotive. Then go to Izumo Taisha Shrine to pay homage and walk to Goen Yokocho. Finally, head to Inasa Beach and Hinomisaki Shrine, and walk along the trail at the lighthouse. We stayed at a hot spring hotel near Izumo Taisha Shrine at night. There was also a rich buffet that night😋😋😋 On the sixth day, we returned to Yonago Airport along the road above Acupuncture Lake. Along the way, we passed a relatively secluded , which has an architectural style somewhat similar to the white-walled storehouses and also revitalizes old buildings. There is a shop selling soy sauce and Japanese sake, and the aroma of sweet soy sauce can be smelled from afar. Remember to come and see it if you pass by, it’s a very good place to check in. Finally, we went to Sakaiminato Seafood Market for lunch and returned to Yonago Airport to return the car.
