Back from watching plays at the 2025 Wuzhen Theatre Festival, here’s some honest talk

I've been watching plays at the Wuzhen Theatre Festival for three consecutive years. The plays competing are all relatively mature and good, and in the past three years, I haven’t been disappointed once. For me, watching the youth competition feels more like an exchange and collision of ideas.❗ 💎 Play Selection Every year at the theatre festival, there are many popular plays, some even hard to get tickets for. However, I still recommend doing some homework before choosing a play. Buy tickets for plays with themes, actors, and content you like, and don’t just follow the crowd. After all, you’re spending real money to watch, and it’s no fun if it doesn’t resonate with you. This year, I watched the special invited giant screen play "City of Humans Marathon Play 1: Prologue/Dionysus," a German-language play with Chinese and English subtitles. Because of the language, the experience is very immersive, and many subtle humor moments resonate with the audience. ⚠️ If possible, stay at hotels or inns operated within the scenic area. You can take the shuttle bus unlimited times, get ahead in catching plays, and save your legs. When there are fewer tourists in the morning and evening, it’s convenient to visit your favorite spots for photos and participate in the night theatre festival activities📸
