In-depth tour of Jianshui, Yunnan | Attractions 1️⃣ Jianshui is a city you don’t want to leave once you arrive. I spent ten leisurely days there last summer and I still miss it to this day. If you want to go to Yunnan during the holidays but don’t want to be crowded, go to this cozy little town~ Transportation: 🚅Jianshui Station; Didi commuting in the city, the starting price is very low!! [Yunnan’s ultraviolet rays are very strong, sisters who use small electric commuting vehicles should be cautious] Accommodation: It is recommended to stay near Jianshui Ancient Town, which is very convenient for eating, drinking and traveling. It’s so fun to walk to the ancient city every day to find delicious food! Attractions: 1️⃣ Jianshui Ancient City Area The semi-commercialized ancient city is also where the locals live and work. There are many delicious foods and small shops that the locals also love to visit. The space includes check-in points: Chaoyang Tower-Zhu Family Garden-Xuezheng Examination Hall-Jianshui Confucian Temple-Dabanjing It is recommended to spend two days walking in the ancient city. Entering from a different gate each time, you will find many interesting things. Lin'an Prefecture Office, Zhu De's Former Residence, etc. were all places I encountered while strolling around. The ancient city is beautiful both during the day and at night! You can go to Chaoyang Tower to watch the light show at night! There are also many aunties dancing in the square! 2️⃣ Xiaogui Lake Just outside Chaoyang Gate is Xiaogui Lake, which has a pavilion and lake views, giving it a Jiangnan water village feel. This is a commercial circle around the lake, with many restaurants, homestays, and literary shops. It is a great place to eat, walk, and take photos. 3️⃣Tuanshan Residence This original village with yellow walls and gray tiles has experienced 600 years of wind and rain and retained the features of the 19th century. The village is not big and there are not many tourists. Many old houses are still inhabited by local residents. Check-in points include Zhang Family Garden, Xiangchou Academy, Huang'en Mansion, Sima House, etc. There are local people setting up stalls in front of the village houses to sell some handicrafts, and the prices are very low. 😋Cai's snacks🉑Come on! [Detailed explanation of food] 4️⃣Xianghui Bridge Station Built in 1936, it is the second station of Jianshui train. Its architectural style is similar to that of Vietnamese architecture in the last century. It is a French-style station with yellow as the main color. 😋There are also restaurants and coffee shops inside. 5️⃣ Shuanglong Bridge Also known as the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, it faces the direction of the sunset. I think it is the best place to watch the sunset in Jianshui! When the train is not coming, you can walk along both sides. It is also nice to take pictures on the bridge when there are few tourists. When I went there in August last year, there was a large rice field next to the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, which was a great place to take rural photos. There was no need to go to Xizhou Ancient Town to see the crowds! 6️⃣ Lin'an Ancient City Meter Gauge Train Theme Park Lin'an Station is the terminus of the Jianshui train. The park is small in size and is next to the Jianshui ancient city. There is a cultural and creative store where you can buy train peripherals, and the milk tea shop called Wuweicha is very good 👍🏻 Ps.3-6 are the four stops of Jianshui train. I didn’t take the train, but I visited each stop. If you can buy a ticket, you can take a small train to experience the slow life of the Republic of China. Of course, even if you don’t buy a ticket, you can still check the train arrival time at each station in advance and take pictures when the train arrives at the station.
