Nearby, Nakamise Street is a century-old shopping street stretching approximately 250 meters, lined with over 90 traditional shops and snack stalls. Recommended items include unique souvenirs like ningyo-yaki (noodles baked on site), traditional matcha ice cream, rice crackers, and furoshiki (sweet rice crackers). Visiting early in the morning allows you to avoid the crowds and capture photos of Kaminarimon without crowds. In the evening, the lanterns are lit, creating a romantic and captivating nighttime view. If you're lucky, you might spot geisha in kimono strolling through the alleyways, giving you a taste of the Edo period. Transportation is incredibly convenient. Take the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line or the Toei Oedo Line to Asakusa Station, and Kaminarimon is a five-minute walk away. Alternatively, take the Tobu Railway to Asakusa Station, and the exit is directly connected to the tourist area. There are kimono rental shops nearby, so we recommend making a reservation in the morning to enjoy the atmosphere of the Edo period while strolling and taking photos in a kimono. Rather than simply taking photos, it's a great way to savor the flavors and charm of old Tokyo while taking a leisurely stroll.
