Why You Absolutely Must Explore Ueno Park in Tokyo! 🌳🐼🏛️

#summervacay I used to think Ueno Park was just... a park. I remember reading about families spending their weekends there in my Japanese textbooks, but it wasn't until I visited myself that I realized it's so much more! It's a massive area encompassing a zoo, art museums, temples, restaurants, and so much more. You could easily spend an entire day here and still not see everything! A Hub of Arts and Culture: Ueno Park is a treasure trove of museums and cultural venues. You'll find the National Museum of Western Art, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, the Ueno Royal Museum, the National Museum of Nature and Science, the Tokyo National Museum, and the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. Plus, it's right next to Tokyo University of the Arts! I only managed to visit the National Museum of Western Art, and for a mere 500 yen admission to its permanent collection, I felt like I got a crash course in Western art history. They have a significant number of Impressionist works, making it incredibly good value for money. Just exploring this one museum easily took up half my day! Meet the Pandas at Ueno Zoo: Yes, Ueno Zoo is famously home to giant pandas! While my hometown of Dalian also has pandas, if you're not from a "panda city," this is definitely a big draw. Ueno Park truly offers a diverse range of attractions that cater to all interests. It's an essential stop for anyone visiting Tokyo! #uenopark #tokyo #japantravel #uenozoo #artmuseums #nationalmuseumofwesternart #tokyonationalmuseum #culture #traveljapan #tokyoattractions
